Anyone know what time the Beta can actually be played? Is it on the stroke of midnight or at a certain time?

Because steam is powered by humans and it is programmed by humans I don´t guess they will be awake at midnight to release it.

So it seems much more realistic that wednesday afternoon (unfortunately for me european it will be after midnight) the game will be released.

Ok, I bought my ATi 9600PRO for HL2 and CS:S. Some days later, ATi and Valve started that voucher thing.



ATi has launched another whole line of cards (X800*).



I didn't like the CS:CZ concept, graphics, single-player feature etc.



Now I have an old videocard (could have saved the money to buy a most recent card, if I Valve told us that they were going to delay the games) and don't have a voucher or a CZ copy.



And can't preload the beta.



Thank you ATi and Valve. It's like being punished for wanting to play HL2, following the dates and staying focused on my favorite game, CS multiplayer, not that singleplayer stuff.



Pls, no "Valve rox, leaked code was not theirs fault" or "shut up, you bought that videocard because you believe in the hype" blablabla.



I'm a victim of the system.

Well I guess I will have to wait to play cs:s if it's not to late I restarted my computer and I got a MSG saying Hard Drive Can Not be found =\ oh well I just gotta wait for gateway to send a new hard drive in..

Jokes aside... you are unlucky - I didn't upgrade for the first release date (by chance) and now I am looking to upgrade my Raedon 8500, but I think I might just wait until HL2 is officially released so I get most for my money.

Nah, you're a victim of bad timing.



Here's some advice:



Upgrading computer because current applications/games run slow = correct



Upgrading computer for applications/games that aren't even on the market yet = bad idea

Bad idea trying to have a machine capable of running the ONLY game you care for?



Yeah, I only play CS on my pc.



I love this game, and don't really like any other. Maybe only Toca Racer Driver 2. But nothing compares to CS.



It's sad. Never did it before, did only because it was CS that would run better on that video card and I didn't had the money to buy a 9800pro or something like that.



Blame me for loving CS that much.



PS: I'm not a nerd. Just love CS.

Same release date, same game engine, same thing as far as hardware upgrades go
