They should really look into boosting the bandwidth of Content Servers #4, 5, 6, 10, and 11.



I'm on 5 myself and I'm glad I beat the rush there. It also helps that half of the world is sleeping right now.

there were two of us over here and we both downloaded it at the same time as soon as it came on in about 5 minutes about 2 mbps-2.7 mbps each cuz i have a fast cable connection 4.8-5mbps

Chances are that server assignment within any given country is random.



Figuring out country from an IP address = easy

Figuring out region of the country from an IP address = extremely difficult

Neway, done preloading and w00t! Opened up the .gcf file and there are LOADS of .wav and phyics files. Yay! Heh, there 16 different files(that I counted) just to hit one type of cardboard box. Yay!

I'm impressed. I know at this moment that hundreds of people are DL'ing this at the same time I am. After 15 minutes, I'm 75% finished.

I was just going to let it DL while I slept but it will be done in a few minutes. I was going to be satisfied if it took a couple or three hours due to the amount of people getting it. The other awesome thing....I was playing CZ for the first couple of hours that they released it and I didn't notice any extra lag on the servers I was playing in.

Thumbs up Valve. Looking forward to playing CS:S.
