Check out the dust particles in the light! Now Dust is dustier than ever.
Are you going to kill your foes with dust? Good luck

I was just wondering if weapon damages in 1.6 will still be carried on to CS:S.

But the screenshots are great and reading some of the specs that these lan cafes used give me some hope of running this game on my radeon 8500 and amd 2600xp :p

I played it at my local LAN center for two hours are it was really sweet. Though, some guy kept asking my for my Mother's Radeon 9000 which she has lying around and it distracted me quite a bit.

Perhaps, but it may depend on your resolution. For example, on 1024x768 with most of the graphical settings up, it ran very smooth on a machine slightly less powerful than yours. (Though I experienced some mouse lag.) However, under 1600x1200 it lagged like a bitch and brought the systerm listed below to it's knees: (AA was off, by the way.)

        Intel Pentium4 3.0 GHZ

        ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

        1GB DDR PC-3200

        80GB Seagate Serial ATA

        Samsung 19" Flat CRT

Finally....2 games comes out that may will make the world finally start buying new computer hardware again instead of being able to run on peoples 3 year old computers and "bad out of the box" cheap Wal-Mart contraptions. (Yes, I'm in the computer biz). heh heh heh heh.

I don't see how having a worse graphics card can remove physical objects from a game...

So it looks like boosting is still possible but only when next to a wall. That makes sense actually. It'd be pretty difficult I imagine to program one player actually boosting another player up (foot onto interlocked hands), so boosting next to a wall for balance is a pretty good representation of it. Shouldn't really change gameplay, most boost spots are next to walls, and when they're not, they're pretty useless.

I like that you can stand on the moveable objects such as barrels, I look forward to seeing people walking backwards on forward rolling barrels. Running into rubber tires knocks you back, that's cool. Also glad to see ex_interp gone.

The removal of stopsounds makes alot of sense considering the added flashbang sound. I don't like that close-landing grenades stop you from moving. Seems like if anything, they should push you away. The new smoke sounds cool.

I'm going to go try it out later tonight, so just to be nice, leave a question or two and I'll read them before I go and try to answer them after playing.

Let them. I'm rather tired of reading about some new article or whatever that whines and complains about some aspect that rubs the "pro" gamers the wrong way. They don't dictate the game, so silence from them will be golden.

Only 512 ram?? With a system like that I would want 1-2gb, and a GeForce 6800 GT also.

The RAM will be the weak link if you dont get atleast 1gb, gfx card next.
