Once again the CS community shows it's age. Is it NOT possable to have a simple discussion with out flaming each other or having fanboy replies (not showing an ounce of sense in some of those posts)?

Is there really any need to get heated over games?

its as free as those shampoo bottles where it says +15% free...if it was free then u should be able to poor out the 15% and walk out the store without paying anything....it cannot be a free if u have to buy another product in order to get it....the beta is included with CZ and the final CS:S is included in HL2....

In similar fashion, Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2 will be added to the program for active subscribers in the Valve Cybercafe Program. These new games will be included as part of the regular monthly fee as soon as they are released.

Active Valve Cybercafe Program subscribers receive access and a commercial license to use Valve games in their café (including Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Day of Defeat and Half-Life), access to upcoming new releases in the program such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source, free tournament licenses, promotional materials and priority customer service and support. um, except I bought HL with no knowledge of CS, I bought CZ with no knowledge i could play in the CS:S beta.

These addons are free. Just to some people, they're the main event.

One thing that most of you have forgotten is that CS:Source is not going to give you 100fps on your systems... CS:S is based on HL2 engine which is a direct3d based engine with max FPS usually caped at 60 (so long opengl and 100fps)... So most of people with nvidia cards especially will not be able to play CS:S with decent frames...

Before you guys troll valve or anyone else take a look at your systems and ask yourself whether it will be able to handle CS:S -- a good benchmark would be was your system able to play Far Cry with decent frames?

shampoo, pc game...they're both products to make money...so yes i know what im talking about...u just quoted a post (i dont know if its official or not) where it said "(including Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Day of Defeat and Half-Life)," note: included, doesnt say free. In sweden u r not allowed to put free if i have to buy something else....if i see the hl2 box and then on it stated "cs:source free" instead of "included" i will take out the cs:s cd and walk out. If the store/valve takes me to court i will win.

                            Included does not mean free.

If u disagree, fine, be stupid.

I quote from some interviews on CSNation:

                            Cliffe
Half-Life 2 will come with CS: Source. Right now, we do not plan to include any other multiplayer games with Half-Life 2.
                            Jess and Michael
the combined Half-Life 2 + CS: Source package will be released with a reasonable retail price including the extra price for CS: Source by Vivendi Universal Games.
after reading this last interview with michael and jess, how is CS:Source free?

Yeah, and as a ATI owner i can't play Doom 3 right? Whatever.
if i see the hl2 box and then on it stated "cs:source free" instead of "included" i will take out the cs:s cd and walk out. If the store/valve takes me to court i will win.
Try that with any other product that says "<something> free". Go to your grocery store and find a box of cereal with a "free toy". Open it up, dig through it and take the toy, and see what the store's reation is... That way all this will be clarified. *eyeroll*

You're reading too much into this, and you're trying to be clever. The problem is, you're being really stupid.
