I think people are bashing it because Valve keeps giving out false release dates (And don't say that they didn't) when they should have just kept their mouths shut. Thats my beef with them.

People moan when things are released and they don't work as it should, early steam days for example. Thousands moaned. When they listen to suggestions and do more testing before letting anyone get their hands on anything... people still moan. I think it is just a game to try and insult the company as many times as possible in a certain amount of time.

Valve can do what ever they want as far as release dates go. Just because the miss one or two of those dates isnt a major problem. There would have been a valid reason behind and more than likely something that would have been irrelivant to the public ie bugs/glitchs in the game.



If Valve really wanted to they could boycot all public forums and not post any news on its release until the day it hits the stores. Just because they choose to post news on the project and miss its date isnt the end of the world.

Dropping from late Aug 5 to possibly late aug is a big deal - this is the main summer playing time, I go back to college on the 7th sept. Like spookie said, I dont even need to mention the hl2 fiasco to tie into your comment rizzuh, where does the madness end.

No you don't need to mention it, but that's what this is all about. A two week delay is almost nothing. You're trashing Valve because of HL2. Why even act like it has something to do with a small delay?

Its not about it being free, its the principle of releasing things when you say they will.



If I went into work and a customer asked me if we had cheese, no actually, lets do free top-up leaflets, so I go in the back and spend 2 hours and wander back out and go `sorry no top-up leaflets for two weeks`, do you think Id get away with it? REALLY?

Here's a simple method of how not to get pissed at VALVe.



1. VALVe releases release date.

2. Ignore date, and pretend they said "when its ready"

3. Be pleasently surprised when it finally comes out instead of saying "FUCK YOU VALVE I WANT MY PRODUCT NOW, I HAVE TOO MUCH SAND IN MY VAGINA"
