You know iD didn't make that title, publishing companies did, their original plan was for a Holiday 2003 release, but long before that they [iD] said they couldn't possibly make that holiday release date, and iD said it would look for a summer 2004 release date, which they are going to make.

When you're done playing Doom 3 you might want to play another game. That game could even be HL2. Please stop acting like they're mutually exclusive. It's really ridiculous. Both of the games are probably going to kick ass. Personally, I can't wait for the full version of CS: Source and to play around with HL2's physics. At the same time, I can hardly anticipate loading up Doom 3 and hopefully getting scared to hell and back.

Doom III is gonna blow unless you love single player cause multiplayer is max of 4 people!

O wow 4 player deathmatch that sounds awesome *sarcasm*
Ya cuz, you know. Nobody will be buying HL2 for its single player. Who plays SP anymore?

Also, just see Pandora Tomorrow's multiplayer if you want to see how fun 4 player can be.

If thats directed at me, I'm just defending it because I really respect what Carmack has done. If it wasn't for Carmack we would've never played Half-Life in the way we know it.

I'm sure HL2 will be much fun, but I just want to know will I still be breathing when it comes out.

OK EVERYONE..just agree both games are probably gonna be good and (if you are not poor) you are probably gonna buy both of them. Kapeesh!

I read that pixel by pixel hitbox thing for Doom3...whatever that is(i have some idea). If it is true...does that mean you can see where every bullet hits and does dmg....*drool*

What, because it was delayed a year, funny ha ha? That's your big gripe? Plenty of great games were delayed a year, including Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Diablo II, Half-Life, and, wait for it......Doom 3.

Too me I think it was the WAY it was delay. One week before I could install it on my computer and play the thing! One week....UGH!!! I mean come on, they knew it. Why wait until one week before it was going to be out.

Ass, it's obvious you're a fan-boy, but look at this at a higher level.

The mighty (leaky) Valve SHOCKS and AMAZES the gaming world with the arrogant remarks that they will blow everyone away AND have it in everyones hands in 3-4 short months (September 30th, 2003). Not another word was said. A week before delivery, deals off.

Then the theft. They say; it's going to take several months to replace the stolen netcode to keep the hackers at bay. I'm not the brightest chap in the world, but if the system was LIVE and this code was compromised, would we just be permafucked with hackers for SEVERAL MONTHS until the code was fixed? Especially considering their totally fucking awesome (sic) delivery platform. If so, they need help, big help.

Meanwhile, deals are getting struck left and right. Specifically, with video cards that will be far from the top of the line when the game finally does come out. Ain't that a bitch?

It's not that the game isn't out, it's the bullshit and obvious excuses along the way.

Fuck it, why did I just bother with that? 2005. I'm sticking to it.

Haha... you jokers. Let's just go enjoy Doom3.

Hasn't it been nearly finished for months now?

Almost one year after the release date, Valve finally...might...maybe...has finished it.
