It is rather silly....all the Steam bashing. I mean.....I downloaded Steam when it first came on the scene and....it didn't work. At all.

A few months later, I tried again. Still didn't work. At this time I also was very vocal against Steam....but then again, it was still a BETA and they admitted they were still working on it. I downloaded it from scratch once again around December and....it works!

Yes, "Friends" craps out half the time but so what? It's really nice to not have to compete with 200,000 people to find and download a update. And now, Valve can send small updates as they make them rather than wait for a huge release everyone has to go and find yet again. Steam is a great idea...and personally, I find it works rather well when you consider just how many people it reaches.

You know what sucks? Waiting in a que at Fileplanet or similar sites for a update.

The glass is never half full with so many people...always half empty.

nicely put.. yeah fileplanet ques are just repulsive... Trying to download 1.5 back in days.. Approx time till ur in front of line.. 150 minutes. and from every version. i.e. 1.3 1.4 1.5 there was a huge patch like at least 50 mb each time and i have super uber lame DSL that struggles to pump out 10 kb/s so the little updates are a real relief for me myself and any1 else who has SBC DSL the demon of all internet
