KiGrind has a lot of usernames that he keeps switching between. Ignore him.

And tell me, does CS:S have a static (unmoving) crosshair option?

I hate the Rainbow 6 style.

I'm just mad that he has to bash Valve. If you disagree with that, well, that's fine. Atleast you're not a jerk about it. :]

Valve is the only company that stays this close to its customers and i like the constant updates, being a very large online community major changes are not an easy task and also may not satisy every single person's demands. I didnt know they had an easy-to-use support thing on Steampowered.com but once i found that i was happy. Please dont complain about maps for cs:s, by now anyone that really knows anything just thinks those new map requests are just annoying. I like how they fixed skywalking, but it was so much fun though! The only problem with the beta i have now is with my kernel memory i think, does anyone know if counterstrike were able to use all my kernel memory would i get Cl_flushentitypacket warnings? im at a lose with that, but good updates!

We really need to enforce the golden rule more here.

The golden rule is "don't be an idiot."

And yes this fixed a lot of problems people were complaining about, but some people are never satisfied. It's a free Beta on a new engine that nobody had to give you. It's a beta to test the engine not to test a multitude of maps or to cater to your every single gripe, because if that ever happened there'd be about 500,000+ different versions of the game out there.

rofl i knew some 14 year old jerk was going to respond saying this is just a beta... looks like i struck a nerve for some idiot that thinks the game runs flawlessly for all. not all computers have the same hardware/software nimrod! i was stating facts not flaming or whining k thnx? nice try jerk. and many people are getting the probs that i posted.

i helped some with the mat_specular 0 but for the other glitches i cant help; so i posted here hoping some one could. but noo all i get is people saying its only a beta, and then writing a 5 paragraph flame towards one post means your just a infantile little attention deficit disorder kid looking for attention in replies to your flames... but im going to be the mature one and just ignore your insolent ass.

now instead of flaming and bitching more then the people who post bugs and ask for help, why dont you do something productive and help find ways to fix/make solutions of the probs.

                - intill then good day... jerk
I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't completely read all of your posts, because frankly they're not worth reading. It did appear, however, that you didn't do the one thing that might solve your problem.

DID YOU USE THE BETA BUG REPORTER?

This is how a beta works. Find a problem. Report it. Wait for Valve to fix it. If that concept is too difficult to grasp, you should uninstall the Beta right now, because you're not contributing anything to the process.

This is for people who want more maps for the beta...(also you may not understand the concept of money either)

Picture this: You are the company Valve and you want to make your upcoming game perfect. The decision is made to test the multiplayer aspect with Beta version offered to select customers. You decide to start with one map, By gathering reports from its customers you are constantly getting info on new bugs/glitches that you need to fix. (Keep in mind that you want to make this game perfect before you actually release it) Now why would you release a new map for beta testers if the problems with the current map aren't even worked out yet!?

Valve just wants to make sure you can actually load the map on your computer and play it. And just face it, the game isnt done yet.

Anyone know what maps will be included at the time of release?

                    Yeah, the moving crosshair.

Can it be removed with cl_dynamiccrosshair 0?

                    I don't have CS:S yet.

cl_dynamiccrosshair 0 does fix the crosshair in one position in all the older versions of CS. I haven't tried it in the beta, but I assume it does the same.

why are u making such a big thing about it?? some pple just said what maps they wanted to have, no-one bitched at valve for releasing one map

+releasíng map with new elements would be a positive for valve, HankPym explains it well:

It's true that more maps would let them test a few more aspects of the game/engine, but obviously Valve decided that it wouldn't be worthwhile, and we can hardly fault them for that.

The CS beta was a different animal altogether, in that it was the full game for something like 2 or 3 years, before it came under the control of Valve. This isn't really the same kind of beta test...whereas the CS beta was a constantly evolving mod, the CS Source beta exists to test the game engine more than the game itself.

And yes, it is free. True, all of the people who are in the Beta paid for something, but they did not pay for the beta. Cybercafé owners paid for their license. ATI voucher owners paid for their video card. Condition Zero owners paid for Condition Zero. All of the above received the CS: S beta for free, on top of what they paid for. To say that the beta isn't free is like saying that a store's "buy one, get one free" sale doesn't have anything free in it.

And just to clarify my comment from earlier, yes Valve could probably benefit a little bit if they released another map to the beta. However, they would also be faced with a lot more problems, such as a much larger number of bugs being reported. It's probably too much for them to deal with, so they decided not to do it. That's fine, they owe us nothing.
