Some guy said the crosshairs were fixed, is this true?

And it just boggles my mind how most people don't know what I'm talking about when I mention the crosshairs. The delay in shrinking down is so obvious and makes it harder to aim correctly, how was everyone not throwing hissy fits over this? Did I miss something?

      hey this just in,

if your game pauses then goes just set all those mat commands to 0 and r_dispusestaticmeshes to 0... and your pauses WILL stop. also try runnin the game in 800x600 with no anti aliasing or anti sotropic filtering. trilinear filtering if u have a nvidia card, and bilinear if you have a ati card. their in options video settings.

if you have nvidia card right click desktop (if u have current new updated drivers) and go to your nvidia analog display and go to video settings (same place you set your anti aliasing) and turn your image settings to quality and turn on trilinear optimizations. THIS helps big time like a dose of viagra.

i have noticed that if your in the server long enough the pauses will slowly stop though. its when u first join the server it lags like a mother giving birth.

btw allow and download do have something to do with the textures because if you turn them off you will see the walls change. and it helps joining servers faster cuz u dont upload your spray or download other peoples :)

I must have bad eyes or something(which I don't), because I'm either not paying enough attention or I just don't see a difference.

No. You're not the master. entRo is the master.

I sort of just dealt with it. Honestly, I think I play better now than ever before.

Turn clientside prediction off in CS and play it. Then turn clientside prediction off in CS:S and play it. (you basically really see where your shots are registering on the server and, in general, how long they take to register on the server. If you do this, you'll know why you need to take small leads in CS, and HUGE leads in CS:S) Monstrous difference between both games, and I'm wondering if it's on fault of the physics. If it is, hopefully they'll have an option to turn them off b/c it's in no way worth the extra lag.

Also, play CS:S with client side prediction off while playing in your own created server.

how does the netgraph look like? is it ramping up then abruptly changes? any red bits? does the line break at all? does it look sawtooth or more like hills-and-valleys?
The only thing I noticed is in and out number, which are usually around 60-100, change. The line stays green, my ping stays at 40ms and my FPS usually stays at 40-70. Sometimes, though, nothing on netgraph changes, yet it still pauses and re buy weapons. I checked to see if it was packet loss and tested my connection and didn't see anything noticable. Anyhow, I'm not only one with this same problem.

if all the lines are steady with no red bits, then most likely not a connection problem. im just decsribing what i know from cs. i havnt played cs2 so im guesstimating :)

how do u know its not just a SINGLE command thats stopping the pauses? have you performed any sort of redundancy checking?

pharlap, i've tried one command that seems to fix it but still makes lag and pauses, so if you have a sucky computer its gonna be even more annoying. mat_bumpmap 1 will fix most probs but still make lag, so if u want no lag i suggest turning them all off as stated above. you dont have cs source yet so if and when you do you will see what i mean by putting those commands in if not by then the patch fixes or not :/

Generally speaking, if you're getting bad pauses when doing things like buying weapons, odds are it's due to insufficient RAM in your system, or a very poor interface setup to your hard drive (any PIO mode).

Didn't see it as 'fixed' in the changelog, but I've noticed that sometimes while spectating in 1st person the view of that player will be leaning to one side - but only for that player. WIEEEEEERRRRDDD.
Yeah, I've seen that, and now I've also seen a guy running around without his gun, but his arms out in the proper positions (in 3rd person). Funny little stuff. :)

if thats an attempt to bring some intelligence into the discussion, well..

..i doubt anyone is that silly to be running in PIO mode. UDMA has been around for what, 5 years now?
