MikeJ wrote..Well said Jagels. I've tried to keep all ambients pretty subtle.
Maybe ambience in CS: Source isn't an ear bleeding low-quality high-pitched wave loop?

Damn one map. That sucks. ALSO...CS:S will be the only multiplayer game shipped with HL2? Thanks fanboys. All our raving about CSS has translated in to Valve holding the multiplayer games back for the future expansion pack "HL:the search for more money" Im a big fan of CS but seriously, f*ck you guys. There was plenty of talk (none of which I will go find right now) that alluded to or directly talked about the various multiplayer games and a "surprise" blah blah. All our hyping up of CS 1.6 ported to Source has caused the witholding of any of em. Sweet. Shame on you Valve. Stockholders are more important than the actual pawns *cough* players...But at least the flashbangs leave a "burn-in" feature!!! wowowowo!!!!!
I know Im an asshole so dont bother telling me jerkyComment

Valve does not have a history of freely supporting their games.

Old news?
*Sigh*
CZ was supposed to be SINGLE-PLAYER CS!
It was NOT originally designed to be a better version of CS 1.6!
The bastards took too damned long to come out with the game, so they decided to make it what it is today in order to make more money off of it.
and OMG CS:S is teh r0x.Comment

I wonder how they're goign to make CZ:S different from CS:S... i mean.. how much better can it get than what you see on CS:S?? for example.. the maps in CS:S... they sound all vastly improved from the original CS... so... CZ:S will be even more improved???
since they have now fixed the shield (in CZ) its strange that they have taken it out of CS, hmm maybe thats one of the things for CZ:S
wish it was dust2 not dust, but it is the least resource hungry map
damn my gfx card is gona die, gota go spend 300squid

i'm glad they aren't just catering to the whiny competive players-- I like my maps with plenty of ambience, it really livens up the environment. Not to say that the pro players aren't important, but the way they play shouldn't dictate the game for the rest of the public.Comment

Clearly even THEY dont know what theyre doing. They read the forums, try to gauge what people will say, and then let people know what they want to hear. Then try to sort it out later. I must say that I am pissed off about CS:S being the only multiplayer game after numerous interviews that stated the contrary. No one else is?

It hasn't been removed...we're just discussing whether or not it should be. I think that if there are no annoying glitches that loop (the cs_office garage door) in CS: Source they should remove the command. It'll let people enjoy the ambient sounds (which I'm sure will be better than those in 1.6) without worrying about having a level playing field.
STOPSOUND REMOVED? WTF!jo0ni3 wrote..
I'm sure the only real difference will be that Condition Zero is a single-player game. That's a fact that's been overlooked by many, including myself, in all this Source hubub. Obviously the CZ: Source graphics can't be any better than CS: Source, so the single-player missions will really be all that distinguishes the two.
I wonder how they're goign to make CZ:S different from CS:S
Which, as a CZ owner, is fine by me.jojojohanson wrote..
Unless somebody's read something that I haven't, the fact that CS: Source is the only multiplayer game to be included when HL2 goes retail does not mean that other games/mods won't be available later, for free, via Steam.

And yes I know, that doesn't mean it will happen either, but let's keep level heads about it.Comment
