I think im going to report Valve to the BBB. Besides the fact that they have NO customer support ( I sent them a few emails months ago, and private messages to Valve employee's recently ), now they're trying to rip their customers off.

Lot of people seem to have trouble reading. All this means is if you were to buy Half Life THROUGH STEAM, THEN you can't get CS. Basically all that means is don't order online if you don't want to get it from behind.

ROFL, Send Valve to the BBB, good luck dude. You know how kidda hard that is, get like about 1,000 Users that are pissed and then do it... But I don't think the BBB will do much sorry. Also I think people have tired it with other companies, and you know what Valve is going to say "If you don't like our bussiness don't buy our software, and don't bug us." On the issue of tech support, go to www.steampowered.com for tech support, Valve doesn't give direct tech support, so good luck with that. If you get an Email from Gabe or any of them that would be the most amazoning thing. I have been waiting for a response to my Email for lets see since ATI said the HL2 coupon, and Valve said other stuff, no Email, I think the deleted it But good luck on that, I will support it somewhat, depending on what it is.

BBB will put an end to Microsoft someday, after they take it over Going to be like Valve... Good luck on your mission.

Well to paraphrase peagle, at this point there's practically a copy of HL on cd for every man, woman, and child on this planet, so I doubt we need to worry too much. :)

...but you think that valvE would WANT people to buy and download from Steam. I mean that was the point of Steam right? So you think it would be cheaper threw Steam and you would get CS. Not the other way around (at a store)

So what the point of Steam again?

Is there a reason you keep reposting that quote, Que_?

                    Hmm

I think I have a reason for VALVe's decision here. Half Life (and indeed HL2) are massive games in terms of size once patches and all are taken into. Just looking and seeing that UT2K4 is on DVD should say it all! CS is as well (hell when I D/L STEAM it took nearly a day to D/L everything for HL and CS). Ergo they are reducing the size in order to speed up D/L.

That said, you could buy HL and download CS at another point....

Does anyone know how much it would cost anyway? It could be the eqivalent of buying HL anyway (to buy both on STEAM I mean)

Anyway what do you all have to worry about? You do have CD-keys for HL don't you?
