You should get one of those motherboard bundles with the RAM and CPU, you can get 2.5Ghz ones or so dirt cheap.

fast clock speed does nt equal high performance. i think i will stick to my current system until i have a need to upgrade. going to try far cry on it, see what happens.

Hmm 1Ghz is a bit of a bottleneck for any gfx card.



I have a 2Ghz machine with 512Mb RAM and a Raedon 8500 and my PC couldn't manage Farcry. But I suppose with Raedon 9600/9800 it probably could.

well the only thing i play is CS. and i get 85 max fps on that most of the time. sometimes wc3 or some unreal (classic unreal) or quake3.
