good movies! great download speed.. i was able to stream it :)

Overall, it looks AWESOME.. just a few things that should be fixed:

      - glock model looks bad

      - when holding the m4, the thumb looks a bit gimped

      - when the flashbang is going through the air.. it seems to be lagged.. maybe network connection or just bad client prediction

I disagree with betas for cafes and CZ owners.. that's NOT like how previous betas worked.. it should be free for everyone who own one of the valve products... there arent enough people who own CZ to test this. Gooseman, make CS free for HL again!

Releasing the BETA to anyone who owns HL or CS is basically releasing it to the entire planet. This way, it's a little more controlled, and hey, they might sell a few more CZ boxes.

I haven't played CZ since the day I bought it, but now it looks like that was a good purchase.

I'm totally pumped about the Beta for CZ owners. It's quite an enjoyable game so I'm not sure what people are complaining about there, and it's true about there being a more mature group playing CZ. There's no one running around calling everyone a hacker or any of that other stuff.

Plus it's possible that Valve wants to appeal to the smaller community of supporters that own CZ. It's still a group of CS gamers, and it's not as if they went to DoD players with the CS: Source beta :p.

Kind of cool we got Slashdotted, and as for the file mirrors for at least the first two videos, I can probably help out if given maybe an hour or two to upload the files.

why by CZ for a CS source BETA testing which will only last apparently 2 months..

in 2 months HL2 will come out and once you buy it, valve owes you a full version of CS:S.

only if they keep their word.

That's not a beta, it's a full release. Even the CS 1.6 beta was limited to a fixed number of users. Unfortunately for Valve, that limit was pretty easy to get around. This should help keep things under control, while still letting Valve get the feedback it needs.

CZ owners getting their hands on CSS first? wow, valve's marketing department is sure doing a good job trying to entice ppl to buy CZ.

Makes sense, I mean there are two classes of CS players:

                    i) People who bought HL or CS bloody ages ago and used their licence key on Steam, that haven't funded Valve for bloody ages

ii) People who actually bought some software off Valve recently.

Which categories would you give the CS:S beta to?

Anybody who buys a game just to gain access to a beta version of a different game is a fool.

The same could be said for anyone buying a game just for different textures and graphics. Oh wait a sec.

                        One thing I didn't see in the CS:S videos: a shield. :)

                            ive seen it :) yay!

i suppose ppl will buy CZ, since it will be ported over to CZ:S soon enough. CZ is not the "real" CS though.

however you look at it, you WILL have to pay for source one way or another. theres just no way round it.
