Shielding CS:S

u can please everyone by completely removing it, because i guarantee everyone will be happy in a little while, u dont ever hear ppl complain about the autosnipers anymore, and if ppl are still pissed about removing the shield, they will obviously quit cs or something cool like that :) plus, i posted so much on this subject, about 1/10 of the posts are mine, so i count as 1/10 of the poll :)

Lots of HL2 news here, and I'm looking forward to see what CS:S has to offer (hopefully isn't as gayed as CS 1.6). I only play on scoutzknivez now days, even that isn't as fun as it used to be thanks to the 3 second delay on the scope.

Keep it. The problems with it are rare these days (at least when I play). Its easy to overcome once you learn how and it really doesnt effect balancing too much. It does help on some maps that favor awpers which is the nice thing as well as offering a nice way to work as a team to overcome certain obstacles you face, such as awpers or the like.



My vote: Keep it.

There is nothing wrong with the shield if you know how to fight with it or against it. Too many people whine because they suck. If anything the shield should be tweaked a bit, many many times ive run into people who can run around with the shield moved to the side yet never take any damage, while i personaly get killed the second i move the shield. Either a shield glitch or im just unlucky. Dont remove it just alter it. A destructable shield would be nice. Source is obviously better for cs then the old engine. Take advantage of that. The shield could be turned into some sort of destructable transparent plastic or something. Apply many hitboxes to the shield so it can break away gradually depending on where you shoot it(we dont want to shoot it 10 times and it explodes into 593202953 pieces). Thats taking advantage of something that wouldnt have worked as well in the current engine.

the problems are still there, for sure, about a week ago i was scrimming, and pregame, one of the guys kept buying a shield every chance he had, and he'd come up to us, as soon as he gets close, pull an mp5 out of no where? and kill us, so there u have it, u can still hold a primary weapon with the shield, dont know how, but u can.

they should keep the shield but under some conditions:

1) terrorits should have there own counter-part to the shield.

2) the accuracy while holding a pistol with the shield should decrease

3) make sure all glitches are gone...

that is the exploit for the shield. Not only can you carry as many weapons as you want, but you are still shielded from damage when weapons are drawn.

I think the shield has completely ruined the gameplay of CS. I have ran/owned a server for like 2yrs. Ever since shield was added it has been banned from my server. REMOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of people do dislike the shield, but take a look around. Notice that most people are getting over the fact that it can give an advantage. Why? you may ask. Well my friend its because they dont suck at the game. The shield adds flavor to cs, cs is getting old and out of date. CS Source will definitely be a well deserved update and whynot take advantage of that to improve some of the latest additions.
