CS 1.5 for Steam

If you haven't heard, Valve will shut down the WON servers around the time when Half-Life 2 is released. This could potentially become a problem for people who do not or refuse to use Steam. Alas, there is a solution for you stubborn people. JBDubbs has complied HLDS and CS 1.5 for Steam. JBDubbs has released many all-in-one HLDS tools for Steam. This compilation will include the current CS 1.5 with HLDS in a Steam interface.

This will install Counter-Strike 1.5 to your Steam installation with all Steam enhancements. This version is the REAL 1.5 only with enhancements that don't change the actual mod, only the Steam interface.

You still have to deal with opening/closing Steam, and the bugginess and FPS problems that come with the Steam version of HL.

1.5 was on steam before, me and my friends were getting everything moved over and got all the bugs worked out, but never got it spread too far :-x and the petitiononline has been made before right when steam was released :| live with it

The 1.5 people play 1.5 simply because they don't like steam. It will probably end up like CS 1.3 steam, with 5 people playing it at any given time.

Umm if you install it and look at how its done, its not reverse engineering. This is exactly how I did mine



1. Open Half Life folder and find cstrike (the 1.5 version)

2. Copy paste Contents into half life folder in your steam apps

3. Fix some file names, so it doesn't get confused with current 1.6 syntaxes

4. Play :|

the cs community is dividing already with cs and cz, now with cs 1.5. woohoo, but i'm sure once css is released, the whole cs community will be one happy family again, yay.
