that's what happened at the first LAN party i went to. eventually everyone upstairs starting buying PARAs, and CTs (the team me and my friend were on) spawn backwards! plus, we were too much of noobs to know how to buy quickly, so it was just a huge mess. but then me and my friend ran upstairs and tackled them, and it woke his mom up. it was like 4 in the morning so she said we had to go to bed

edit: btw, thanks for reading my whole post...it's long! :)

lol this is hilarious, imo that 'article' wasn't really well written it was more like, "public relations" against his rant...

i used to work for mgon myself and although i dont have a 'gamespy' or any other type of attitude, i find it just as easy to convey my feelings properly or thru proper channels, didnt he post that on the phl site? well thats just immature and "juvenile" -- anyone who works or writes for the public eye has to have the common sense to not mix opinions with facts, if need be at least declare the difference and make it look nice, his looked like a retarded post (altho ill admit, better than casual "flames" you see) and kept crying about his own personal defeat - although i can understand where he goes on about it, was this really 'news' and worth even discussing? hah..well

riz/pen were so quick to rectify the positive numbers over his negatives that it hardly gives an 'unbiased' view and when i worked in the community sites, you didnt' write a biased article on such a tight topic if u wanted good debate, :/ so the world changes. just want to say, that pennies was clearly set on the fact, it seems, that once you pay your 50 dollars you get a game to play -- its much, much more than that you see, as you're paying for a service, a product, which while you do not run this service or did not make this product, you are sitll the "End User" and thus are just as much entitled to rights as the provider. This is fact. What I'm talkin about is the fact that, while you dont get the right to play on vac servers if they say you cant, you still have your right to use it - valve gives you that right and allows you to play, just not on their territory (End User Licence Agreement..i believe it's called?)

in the end its like this, and this is fact as well, it's about bringing in the money. you see, ppl dont pay $50 for a game because its a game, they pay $50 for a game because they like it, they want it. if valve makes pearl-hunting 2005 where you can check out all the oysters in the sea for a beautiful pearl, well i doubt many will find that worth $50 -- in the world of pr its all about keeping the p in public, you keep them on the positive side instead of the negative. what fragwhatever has done is release the negative side and it looks really bad...y? well because thats the side you dont see -- its kind of like selling a car, ppl dont tell u everything wrong with it if they really want to sell it, as sad as it is, thats how ppl seem to work nowadays (and as always, in most cases). it's not about morals, it's about selling the product and keeping the public on your side for proprietary purposes. the whole point, that they made with the confident release date of sept 30th is that they wanted it, they were going to try really hard, and didnt want any disturbance in the media -- it didnt work out that great and the source being stolen was just the break they needed to get the time they needed, even if it meant an extra workload -- cutting content to ship faster? thats totally believable, its happened time and time again, the most prominent example from my days is SiN -- where Activision pushed Ritual to release the game and in such, most people could never even get the thing working. after it didnt perform as expected, support for it dropped. personally ive played the game, it was great at the time and was something a lot of ppl missed out on, because of the fact, its all about the money -- no1 works for "5 years" and expects nothing more than a pat on the back, laff...yes its true they dont owe gamers anything, but of course, if they want to put food on the table and a roof over their heads doing this, then they will cater to gamers any way they can, if u disagree then you're a fool because thats exactly how the market is competing, a good example is the Unreal Tournament vs. Quake III Arena debate, all the different versions of games and spinoffs, vietnam themes, etc etc. ppl play these games and because of that, there are a whole lot of them and thats how it goes -- valve is different, they push the gamers into adjusting to them after they capture them, like with the crosshairs, ok that didnt quite work out right at first so they fixed it...its a very timely process all in all and thats just a small example~

on a last note, valve themselves dont give a shit about what you ppl say in forums and such, they hire ppl to worry about that, do you think anyone at valve other than the ones who post now and then, lose any sleep because "mr. B4dboiiiXXX" called them a load of faggots? lol the answer is no, that falls under hr/pr whatever, trust me i used to deal with it as head mod of the forums, skinner, and chief editor of a decent sized mgon site several years ago. the forums posts dont stop and the articles need to be fresh, captivating and above all else, suitable in the public's eye -- i respect csn for posting this, but i dont respect the fact the only comments they had were all pro -- id like to hear more about what riz DID agree with, than what he didnt...but thats how it goes, its not about censorship, its about "viewership" between what sells and who buys~

sue me :), but nice read, very interesting

oh and i forgot to mention, it doesnt matter what network or any company of site you work for, even irl, because what it all comes down to, is that no one is indispensible -- sounds like frag learned it the hard way, just like i did a few years ago~

well there's a saying "if debugging is the process of removing bugs, is programming the process of putting them in?" every program WILL have bugs (except for your typical Hello World program which can STILL have bugs if compiled with wrong settings etc etc) and most programming houses releases patches and updates and stuffs. As often, they look for things that they feel is more important like stuffs ingame and whatnot that might affects the players more than just a few GUI stuffs, that is what Valve has been doing as far as I can tell. I am one of the few who's kinda enraged at first by STEAM but then I realized what a big attempt Valve is making ! as a programer I DO respect them for trying new ideas and attempting feat beyond normal imagination... still there's quite a lot of room for improvement and they're being kinda slow about it... we'll look and see.....

Someone likes to indulge in hyperbole! :o

Edit: No one could possibly state with a straight face that the changes made to Counter-Strike over the years have enhanced gameplay or expanded the (limited) arsenal of tactics available to a player. I can't think of a change, actually, that, barring bugfixes (By which I mean honest bugfixes, not accepted segments of the game paradigm that have been removed after a multi-year presence because they were "unintended behavior" and therefore classified as "bugs."), has added depth to the game.

-No one will ever read this post.

Valve is pretty much run by lying fucktards. Fragmaster is right for the best part. I really dont agree with what asspennies said. Valve could wave all these wads of cash infront of your face ... but sooner or later [5 years] Your gonna get quite sick and tired of spreading someone elses bullshit lies.. If the game comes out thats cool.. But my spark for halflife 2 has died and died hard.. so if anybody needs me ill be hanging out with Doom 3
