I must admit I did not expect much but, damn after a year of poop Valve really came through. The new skins are badazz; the hosties are funny as all hell, the pick up dead mans wepons feature just makes sense and the bots are better than some of the people you run into online.

Looks like CZ is only supported under the NT/2K/XP OSes. It may be that it will not run, but then again I haven't seen anyone say that it does or doesn't. I would think that if you can play CS via steam you can probably play CZ also, since they are the same under the hood.

Well, I did have it for free at one point. A friend of mine who works with computers had a Microsoft Development Kit, that I installed it from, but since then I've had to get a new hard drive and he returned the Kit.



I don't know of where else to get it. I also prefer to do things the legal way the majority of the time. I don't hack in CS, for example, despite everyone calling me a newbie on my off days.



XP I might make an exception for, however, considering Microsoft is rich enough they don't need my money more than I do. But I still don't know where to get it, or how, or how likely it is to screw up my computer for not getting it 'legitimately'.

the pirated versions of XP are basically image files straight from the XP CD. so unlikely to be sabotaged by someone. and why would anyone want to "hack" a pirated XP version? its also a good challenge to find some "illegal" software.

Buy XP whenever you upgrade your system. If you're buying a hard drive, motherboard, or processor (and possibly other hardware, I'm not sure), you can pick up an OEM copy of XP, which is usually about half the price, despite being exactly the same thing as the retail version. And Thortok2000...Windows ME is generally regarded as the worst operating system Microsoft ever put out, because it suffered from severe feature bloat, and wasn't tested thouroughly enough. Windows 98 SE was a much better choice, because it was a much tighter OS. And, of course, Windows 2k/XP are a significant step above the Win 9x series.

Possible in theory, but you need to make your friends exchange a radio command .wav file with the exact same on you`re using. Like changing the sound of "Reporting in" to "Hell yeah". It will still say "Reporting in" in the radio bar tho, and everyone needs to copy it ^^.



Stupid method, we tried that back in the days of b4 to organize clan tactics "Blue rdy to go" and so on.

Think I don't know this? ME was the only thing I had available to install and that's what it came with.



It also came with a coupon for a discount to get XP (since I bought the computer like a month before XP was released), but to my great regret, I lost it pretty soon afterward.



I've actually not had many problems with ME. I don't try to do much with it, but everything I do usually works fine with only a couple exceptions. But I'd still rather upgrade to XP if I could.



And as far as upgrading my system, that ain't gonna happen. It's a laptop. About the only thing I can upgrade is the RAM, I think, or the hard drive (which is pointless since I'm networked to an 80 gig). I'm probably going to save up for a non-laptop gaming powerhouse and keep this for any 'on the go' needs I might have. Right now, the weakest link is the graphics card, nVidea GeForce 2 with 32 MB, but the second weakest link is the RAM, with 256 MB in two 128 pieces.



Although when I got this sucker, it was awesome for its time. 15.1" screen (on a laptop, mind you), CD-rw and DVD-rom in the same drive, and able to play any game of its time and quite a few after its time. It's great for watching movies when travelling on a train or plane, as a very big and bulky MP3 player (although no headphones are required and can be hooked up to speakers), and for what I use it for mostly, playing games. If I ever go back to school, I can use it for keeping notes in class (or playing solitaire when I'm bored).



So I don't regret getting a laptop, even if it's not as upgradable as a normal computer, but I think I'm eventually gonna get a normal computer too.

download a program called "kazaa lite k++". i use version 2.4.3. you can get all sorts of files from different users. its the default P2P file sharing program. winxp is around 500mb in size, usually in the form of an .iso file.

laptops are just not made for gaming.

lol, thats actually a very cool idea.

you can replace the words that appear on the HUD by editing titles.txt.

Still can't find it anywhere. And travelling through warez sites looking for it screwed up my computer and I'm running an antivirus (and then ad-aware) to remove it all again.



Nah, I'll probably just buy it later on. Much safer.

whenever u download anything, its always good practice to AV everything you download.
