The point is Counter-Strike is a free modification for Half-Life. Just because a few 12 year-old idiots just discovered CS last week at their friends house and ran out to Wal-Mart only to see the Half-Life: Counter-Strike retail box for $29.99 doesn't mean that Counter-Strike isn't a HL mod developed and released for free on the internet by Minh Le and Jess Cliffe with continued free support by Valve software. Stop raging against the man, and while you're at it stop posting too.

CSX owners have both the updated Inferno (downloadable content) and Vostok. We also have different versions of the terrorist (different face) and CT models. What is new is the smart hosties, map tweaks, and the other new map called Sienna.



Speaking of CSX, how come there hasn't been much support on Valve's part? It was the second ranked game on Xbox Live and we only seen one small patch (which seemed to fix nothing.) Still, we did get two new maps, but after that it seemed forgotten.

i dont care if CS isnt updated visually. ive been playing it for years and have never noticed "crappy" graphics on it. i like the CS graphics, they suite it just fine, but im more interested in gameplay - CS's selling point.

as long as valve help support CS gameplay-wise, then we should all be grateful. by all means, update and add new "exciting" content to CZ, it isnt a free game after all, but CS should not be abandoned and the gameplay continued to be tweaked.

One day if CZ surpasses CS, then ofcourse many of us will be forced to buy it, by then it would already be in the bargain section of the store, no need to take out that 2nd mortgage after all now i think it's "lacking" - gameplay not all that different, but thats not to say it wont be something big in the future.

I dont think many of us can take any more graphical updates for CS without having to upgrade at least something in our computers.



I guess comparing CS and CZ is like comparing Doom II and Doom: TNT/Plutonia. The "sequels" were good, graphically (a few engine updates), but the original is still best :)

i would love to upgrade my server to CZ but none of my regulars has it. Valve should just grow some balls and make us all switch to the new game and reunite the community. we all knew once CS went retail it was eventually going to be a pay-to-play game: valve and co. aren't in the charity business. i payed $30 for HL 5 years and 2 PCs ago. i think i can afford another $30 installment. i just don't want to be sitting all alone in my shinny new CZ mansion in the burbs so i keep living in the bug infested ugly old CS ghetto with my peeps keepin it rizeal, biotch!

As much as I love how the graphical updates are making the game prettier, Im dissapointed in the gameplay changes. I dont want to sound like Im bitching, but the AWP change needs to be fixed. If you want to make it slower, then feel free to do so. Just please fix it so that my first shot actually comes out, when I press it. I hate when I go to shoot, and nothing comes out for two seconds. It feels like a major bug, .. way more then it ever was. I can understand the need to fix the exploit (actually, I was fine with it.. but if you new guys all say so, then sure I guess)... but please, do something else to remedy it. I get so pissed off when I try to shoot someone, and nothing comes out.. and then I get sprayed with a mp5. Its like theirs a banana jammed into the end of my barrell or something.



I know its probably too late, and theres no changing it.. but I figured I'd give my final wish before the coffin is nailed shut forever.

I have CZ and its a joke, what was the point in it lol? just because valve wanted a bit of money, and i guess it worked, theve already made millions from it. just the same as 1.6 with new maps and skins wow. Only difference will be the hostage AI. so ure paying for new skins, maps and hostage AI, hehe. Its just pathetic, and so are valve.



I guess at the end of the day there is no such thing as so called condition zero. Because all u are playing is CS with different skins and maps. Its just a repackaged Counter-Strike with new skins, maps and a new name. And then its put on store shelves at a full retail price, lol. If your going to make some kind of sequeal or enhanced version at least make it a different game, gameplay wise. Not just a few .mdl files and .bsp files. Valve make me sick.

Question: Will the updated hosties be implemented into CZ single-player as well? Would be weird otherwise :) But wouldn't that mean a different set of outcomes of the hosties-missions?
