Vostok is a new map, they are ALSO updating inferno



CS is free in 1 sense, and not free in another,



1. free because you get it as an addon (non pay) to HL

2. not free cause you can buy CS on its own

Vostok = new.

Upgraded Inferno = Inferno... but upgraded.

But you still paid for HL (or you were supposed to), so it's not free in any sense. You had to drop money to get it one way or the other, I don't see how that's free. If you got it without paying money for HL, or anything, then that, by definition would be free.

exaclty, you payed for HL, without HL you couldnt play CS

Counter-Strike is free to anyone who owns Half-Life. If you don't care about Half-Life and just want CS, you can buy the retail package, that doesn't change the fact that Counter-Strike is still available as a Half-Life modification.



Like all Half-Life modifications, NS, DoD, TFC, The Specialists, HL-Rally, etc etc, it is completely free.

we had to pay for our cd-keys, and have supported the game for so long, dumb@$$! :)

edit: we shouldnt even have to pay to get CZ...its an addon of cs..

inferno used to be one of my least favorite maps...but after the texture updates a while back and now with the new updates and changes it looks very very cool...i cannot wait to play it...and thats saying a lot nowadays for me...



oh and the pic of "updated inferno" reminds me exactly of european streets right before dark...the lighting is perfect and realistic as hell...it looks perfect to me!!

Okay so how is Inferno updated?



I've played on it at night before, I really really liked it, thought it gave the map what it needed, good atmosphere instead of 'oh another place to blow something up'. Only night DE map I know of. The lighting was also pretty cool.



But this was de_inferno_cz in CS 1.6, before CZ came out. After CZ came out, I had incompatibility with servers hosting CZ maps and deleted them, and while the re-downloaded inferno was the same in all other ways, it was instead daytime and the textures and lightings were all set to daytime.



So is this something new or not? I don't know.
