I agree with what most of Zips says. Valve should add the hostage changes to the normal CS aswell, or at least make the hostage AI better. They don't have to make the hostages show "emotions" or any of that crap, but just make them follow you sensibly, be able to crouch and go up ladders, and definitely make them not look like retards when they're running.



But then again, the last time I played a cs map was like 6 months ago, so I wouldn't give a flying fuck.



Just fix the hitbox errors like you said you would, Valve, and I'll be happy.

I don't see why people keep talking about how weird it is for Valve to support Half-Life. Valve doesn't have any other games and without their support there would be no community for any Valve games.

sounds like a neat patch. i hope they will not just add the new player models, but also fix the current ones. those hand and feet bugs are really starting to irk me.

Cost me about £30 bout 5 and half years ago but beside the point. Valve did not provide counter-strike for *FREE*. They simply provided the ability to mod hl and then saw an opportunity to make money from the mods created.

Yeah, and the time and work that they can also show to CS. It'd have been done in the past and should be done now. Something like the hostages isn't that much to ask at all. I think you're missing the point where I don't give a damn about any of the other changes or features of CZ. It's the damned HOSTAGES that I want fixed. It's probably as something as simple as porting over the CZ hostage code into CS. And $30 (First it's $20, then $25, now $30?!) is far too much for an update in hostages when I don't want anything more.

I think we're splitting hairs. HL was/is dirt cheap to buy, and CS as a mod was free. At the end of the day, my point was that for a minimal to negligable investment, people have got literally years of gameplay out of HL and CS.



Valve is spending money bringing that 5 year old engine as much up to date as is possible in CZ, I believe that warrants a $20 investment from their userbase. Apparently many disagree, and believe Valve should hire professional artists, map makers and coders to fix CS ad infinitum without any return.



That said, I agree with Supersonic's view of the Hostages. They are buggy in CS and those bugs should be removed - just like the awp bug was :o All of the CZ extensions (talking, fear, skins etc), should of course be on a paid basis.

Yes... But Valve bought the CS mod from what started out as a fan based project that certainly returned no profits. Just saying, if they're going to buy out a mod that was originally free and without profit they should expect this sort of thing and still continue to support it.

Exactly. That's all most people want is an update/fix to the brainless, stiff, and lumbering hostages.
