    CZ v1.2 On It's Way

Update: Two images have been added below. Check them out!

Cliffe has informed us of a CS:CZ update that is to be released next week. This update will include high-definition hostage models, new maps, and a couple new player models. Also, hostages will be emotional meaning they will show emotions such as fear. Also, hostages will attempt to escape if the CTs don't get them soon enough. View Cliffe's post below.
Version 1.2 of CS:CZ will be released next week via Steam. The update includes high-definition hostage models with all-new AI, 2 new player models, brand new maps, and other enhancements.

The improved hostages will show emotions such as fear, attempt to escape on their own if ignored, and even talk to the player to give clues about what they've seen. The new player models feature the Russian SPETSNAZ counter-terrorist and Militia terrorist.

All you enthusiastic CZ players get ready to be amazed!

Ok, now CZ seems to be shaping up! Maybe I will actually buy CZ now. Great job, Valve :)

PS : the machette, tazer (AFAIK, this is in CSX) and m-60 wouldn't hurt either :-P

I just realized, CZ could be a great way to make Assassination maps popular, it's a damn cool scenario but is really overlooked due to a lack of official as_ maps.

Oh, I can't wait to play these new maps, although I am already in my pajamas.

That's because as_ maps are INCREDIBLY hard to make well, and even harder for a player to adapt to. It is of course easy to make simple assasination maps, but these typically offer little replayability. What makes Oilrig so fun is it's complexity and non-linearity. Tundra on the other hand, to me, just feels like an assault course. In my opinion, as_ maps would ideally be more like Oilrig, but are easier to make like Tundra.

That said, I love them both, particularly as the VIP on Tundra... it's all in the timing (hiding and patience are the key).

interesting i wonder if t's get penalised for shooting a hostage who has almost escaped....... otherwise its a lose lose situation for terrorists.

kinda cool though seein the hostages think for themselves kinda, i can envisage it right now...

Bob: Say, its cs_assault, no one ever comes into this room

Pete: Yeah, how about i boost you up outta that window ?

                            Bob: Yeah, SWEET !

Pete: Bah, stupid F**kin map maker didnt add func_breakable to the glass :-(

Bob: Hoooo well, so much for our new thinking skills........

                              now lets see ...

"Hey stop! Damn hostages always keep running away!"

Mmmh. Looks like there`ll be major flamewars about introducing industrial super-glue to keep the hostages in place. It`s gonna be interesting, but this is another step where i see no return for cs_ into competetive play.

"Hello, Mr. Free.... aeh, Mr. Spetsnaz, there`s a terrorist behind you trying to knife you. oh. too late."

w00tage! i`d say. And i`ll second whatever DaveJ said above.

... hooray for as_ ... es_ ...? I suppose CS needs a change in gameplay, de_ was introduced in b4 and ever since i didn`t like it ^^
