CZ v1.2 On It's Way

Still don't see a reason to buy CZ. Basically, from what I've played of it, It's a ridiculously easy single player (but that was expected I guess), different models/textures, and new maps. The CZ models/textures and maps are already useable in CS, so why pay for smarter hostages? If I went to Best Buy and saw a game, with the description "Exactly like CS, just looks a little different and hostages are smarter!", I sure as hell wouldn't drop $5 for it, let alone.. what is it, $30?



I'm sure people will say "then don't buy it", I'm just curious why you WOULD buy it, maybe you can help me out.

Is that a house? Most people would consider it a tower and people happen to enter there. Because if they're running up the hill and so are the Counter-Terrorists, it's cover.

Hey!!! All the models are in my cstrike\models folder not czero...

That means the new models will be playable in CZ:CS 1.6 as well.

My contention is that the czero folder contains campaign related info and the liblist.gam file points to cstrike as backup folder/directory. Therefore, the game dll just switches on the high poly rendering for CZ and made the maps a bit different from the 1.6 versions. Other than that, the models are the same.

Wow, CZ is really starting to shape up... where's my M60?



Getting back to the assassination maps... I would love to see Valve put out some NEW official as and es maps, a revival of those is VERY possible with CZ... because bomb and hostage maps getting pretty stale quick, regardless of the design.

I would love to go downtown and walk across some crates that have been randomly plassed around the street. Taking away crates from CS is like taking the guns out.

Don't take this wrong but you are the idiot that paid 40 for it me personally could buy the thing but it seems worthless to me to pay that much for a game thats exactly like CS if thay update CS with CZ is there bis Personally I would not mind getting all this for free and mostly from valves rep if CZ gets updates to Things that are in core so dose CS so Most likely CS will get the updates also just not the maps extras

1) I wanted a single player CS experience...I was hoping for something more like OpFor or what's found in Deleted Scenes, but in retrospect maybe what they ended up doing was the best way to go.



2) Quite simply, I'm a supporter of Valve. They've bent over backwards for years now supporting the mod community at little-to-no profit. Frankly, commitment of that magnitude deserves a little cash now and then.

And as for the updates if you look at the PATCH history most things that affect CZ also get trickled down to CS thats all i was sayin pull your head out of your but and read the post right

While the hostage changes sound like a good idea, I'm waiting to see how they're implemented before giving it a seal of approval. There's too many things that could go wrong/unbalance.



As far as AS maps, just make something oil-rig like. Tons of paths, semi-interactive environment, tons of spawn points for T's, and think three dimensionally.



A multi-level parking garage, where terrorists have blocked most of the exits. A few back alleys in a neighborhood, with explorable buildings, and snipers on the rooftops. A corporate skyscraper, with the escape point as one of those window-washer things.



AS maps aren't hard to design, it's simply making ANY good map that's hard. AS isn't any harder than CS or even DE, it's just that AS shows it a lot more if you make it too simple.

You call me an idiot and tell me "not to take it the wrong way." There is no good way to take being called an idiot, is there? Wonder who the idiot is? Maybe you, the man who cannot write a coherent paragraph.



And guess what? VALVe won't be giving you all that stuff for free for no reason. They are making CZ more and more amazing as time goes on in order to convince more people to buy it, and to satisfy those who have purchased it already. I recently had to buy the game again because I had given away my HL cd key when I stopped playing for a while. I chose to buy CZ because I knew, in the long run, the additional $20 over the cost of just plain old CS would be worth it.



Don't be bitter because you don't get this cool new patch, and the subsequent cool new patches. If you really care, just go buy the game -- it costs the same as going to three movies, and you'll get many more hours of enjoyment -- otherwise stop crying about it.

Patch history for CZ has been very small, mostly just things for the mission packs, and new buy preset options. What is it that you are using as your evidence?



Sorry, but this won't all "trickle down," VALVe wants to encourage people to be CZ; obviously they won't take away the few differences between the games.

Why would I pay full price a game (that's got worse than sub-par reviews) running on an outdated engine for a few extras that should have been added into CS about 20 updates ago? No thanks. It's not so much to ask that hostages don't act like damned tree trunks until someone else comes along. I could care less about other textures or some new skins. Those you can pretty much get anywhere. And if I wanted single player CS, I'd play Counter-Life.
