Yep VAC recently getting updated 8 times in less than two weeks and the massive increase in "Wah I got caught cheating!" posts on the Steam forums is just Valve blowing hot air...

Trust me, they are doing something. I'm loving it. Instead of saying "you hacker!" when someone pulls of some crazy shit on you, just say "nice shot".

We have had a few supected hackers get banned by VAC in the last week. According to the cheat sites, no publicly downloadablel hacks work right now. Been waiting sooo long for this. Please keep it like this Valve!

If they make a little money off CD keys and it cuts down on hacks, fas-tas-nic! Those hackers should be paying for all the work Valve has had to put into security and updates. Now if there was only a filter so we could keep insecure servers out of the serverlist, the hacks can all go play with each other and leave the rest of us to have fun.

i understand that we all hate cheaters but I think that 1 year is still too much...i think they would learn their lesson in 7 months....my friend (not me, dont think that im making up an excuse) was banned for cheating when his friend went on his account. He gave the guy his Key b/c he is trustworthy but it turns out that my friend's friend's account was banned since HIS friend was cheating on his account so he borrowed MY friends and got his account banned too. I know that's confusing but now my friend is banned for a year for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He's the only guy i play with and i would be devastated if he were banned for 5 yrs...ouch....
