    You've Been Warned

Now, VAC clearly states when you connect to a server that if you cheat, you're banned for one year. I think it should be permanent, but Valve has some generosity left in their hearts. If you have been erroneously detected, there is a cheat form available. Go Nick![break="VAC Connection Message"]************************************************

You are joining a server that implements Valve's anti-cheat system (VAC).

Please note that the use of Cheats is a violation of your End User License

Agreement for the software and/or your Steam Subscriber Agreement.

If Valve or the game host detects your use of Cheats on an VAC-enabled

server, your Steam Subscription and/or your product key for the software

will be banned from playing on VAC-enabled servers for one (1) year.

does this mean that any random server admin can get your cd-key banned for a year? or does it have to be detected by VAC

You have to be hacking in the first place...and the server admins cannot get your steamid banned...only VAC can get it banned.

i think it should be a permanent ban, with the ammount of hackers we get in our server, THEY MUST PAY..

but i must say, good job valve, we havent had a hacker in our server for weeks! =O

So it's not wise to use your own anti-cheat (ex. HLGuard) on the server then. Because if a person is banned by HLGuard before VAC gets them, then they could continiue on another server...

But in the end (if they just continiue to cheat) they will be banned in VAC (hopefully)...
