    Cheaters get what they deserve.

I'm very pleased with the action that's been taken recently on cheaters.

I'm pleased to hear something effective is going on too.

I'd like to see the silent ban idea implemented tho, for thoses cheaters who play occasionaly.

The "silent ban idea" is that when a new cheat is detected, VAC collects detected cheaters for 3-5 days without banning (instead of banning em right away) to catch the most of em before the word is spread that their cheat is now detected by VAC.

I'm glad to see Nick picking up where Matt B. left off.

I like what i hear....although i dont really play cs anymore....i had heard that the number of cheaters increased dramatically during the early stages of steam and hearing that VAC is becoming like the SS...its good to hear...i like the take no prisoners stance....keep it up and ban all those fuckers...see if i give two shits about em...as long as you have no cheats...your in the clear....so anybody who bithces about this...most likely cheats..bottom line

what I would like to see is that they remove the ex_interp block when VAC is turned on. Right now it forces it to minimum 0.05 while the optimal would be 0.01 if you have a DSL connection like I do, and like to play with 101, 101 & 25000

THANK YOU VALVE!!! For about 1 year straight I was considered a hacker no matter where I went... now I don't really play CS seriously so it doesn't matter, but now if I want I can get good and own them and they can't blame it on hacks anymore.

It's untrue about there being only 2 false positives in VAC's history. Those are the only 2 known and detectable false positives. I'm sure there were a couple more (not many, but a couple) that were indeed false, yet not determined to be so.

For example, I was once banned by VAC for absolutely no reason whatsoever. You may not believe me, and I don't blame you, but it's true. I'm not going to go into details [again], but basically I disconnected from one server because it crashed, and then went to a different one. Once I got there, I joined a team and was waiting for the round to end so I can play. After about 45 seconds into it, I got disconnected, and later realized I was banned until 2008. Again, no hacks or cheats or anything similar was present or running or anything on my computer. In fact, absolutely nothing was different from the way I've always played CS, so I have absolutel no idea what triggered the false ban. Again, I'm not asking to be unbanned or anything since I'm using a different account now, so no need to start saying I'm lying or whatever. If you don't believe me (which I understand), just ignore this.

OTOH, it's a very good thing VALVE is taking cheaters seriously and is apparently doing a good job hunting them down. I really like Pomme's "silent ban" idea, because I can imagine that it would really make the cheater finding process much more effective.
