I'd like to point out that there are MANY cheaters back in the CS community now. Its almost as bad as the days of OGC7 and OGC8. Every server has at least one person going 30-4.

30-4 is possible on the right servers...I'm thinking the reward will be something like Mod on the forums, or news of updates before they hit the 'newsstands.' cool stuff that only you and a handful of other people will have.

Depending on the map and server, #32, I can get to 30-4 or thereabouts. I never hack. I'm not a clanner, and I've been playing inconsistently for a year and a half. Not every server has people with high ratios, and not every person with a high ratio is a hacker, no matter how much you want to believe it.

err, that's wrong, there seems to be far more people cheating now then back in 1.3 and before that. It's pretty bad right now.

No. I'll admit i haven't been pubbing regularly for at least a month, but VAC has put a MAJOR dent into cheaters since 1.3. Before VAC just about every single server had a cheater, or two, or three. OGC 4.5 was here, there, everywhere.



while VAC was slacking for a little while (last couple of months before these updates) i would notice an obvious cheater about every couple of days, maybe more, often less.



I imagine with these updates it's even less.



A CAL player shooting a moron hopping behind a wall, and someone turning the corner getting 5 headshots through the ground, are two different things.

And 30-4 isn't that uncommon, there will always be someone better than you. (And me for that matter)

honestly, you sound like me when i just started cs, score doesn't matter. some really good players go into small little public servers just to own completely. spectate the player to look for the obvious stuff, then draw a conclusion

Then where would we go to play? Seems like every server has more than its fair share of cheaters. Most I have seen lately have not even tried to hide it. If they get caught they run down to the local software store and buy half-life for $9.99 with a new cd key and create a new steam account and they are back in business. Personally I like to try and outsmart the cheaters, doesn't always work but its fun trying. There will always be cheaters and there will those of us who play the game in its original form.

One thing I would like to mention. Why cant the creators of CD invent a better interface between CD and CS. I have crappy dsl cause I live in a small town. When I connect normally my ping is about 125-135, I can live with that. When CD is enabled my ping soars to about 175 - 300 and jumps all over the place. I have found this to be a general complaint from most ppl i talk to. Ideas?

I suppose the non-monetary reward... is a Valve specially designed cheat developed with Turtle Bot Studios, first implemented with the CZ bots.

This is a good step forward, now the cheat networks' cheats will only work for a short period of time. The suggestion about private cheats is one to be cautious about.



It does annoy me when there is a good player who is accused of cheating and maybe banned by an admin, because they are good. People use their ears, see where their teammates go and where they die. If you concentrate this is enough to know exactly where the opposing team is. Totally agree with MikeJ at #36.



A cheat free world would be great, there would be none of this cheat fear that fly around servers accusing every player with more kills than deaths. We all know this situation is impossible, but at least the number of cheaters will be narrowed down a lot. The only people with cheats will be the developers and people in private networks. Although when the hack from a private network spreads a little, and everything spreads, someone will want this non-monetary reward. :)
