    Non-monetary means not involving money.
That's what I thought but I was hopping it really does mean involving money.

then how would we be able to play 16?anyways so what if the hacker turns in hacks, atlease he wont be able to use them.regardless, this will pretty much kill mainstream hacks where people can go to google and find cs hacks and download them,Soon enough the only hackers left will be the ones that actaully make them(and thats a small amount of people).

This is a couple days old.

BTW, for those who didn't catch it the first time around, this is Valve's first real iteration that cheating is illegal according to the user statement every client agrees to (long time coming, I know).

                4/12/04 VAC Updated
                * New cheat detections per usual.

Many thanks to those who submitted resources via email, it's been very useful for helping to fill in the gaps.

At this point, I'm only interested in things not readily available via web search engines. I'm particularly interested in unreleased beta versions of major cheat programs.

theres a hack out there thats been undetected for lke 2 years now(same hack) thank got it dosent have aimbot,i hope that its first on there list !!!!!!!!

That is really great since now allllllllllll hack will be going underground (makes the hacking community really small, but almost invisable:) only insecure server have the most hackers !!!!

thats a great way to stop cheating.once they have the hacks they can realease a quick update to get rid of them.Thats the good thing about steam.all these people complain about valve and stuff, yet since 1.3 era theyve done a great job on the war aginst hackers, esp for cs being out this long.most companies just stop on a game and work on a new one.
When you ONLY have 1 game, it's not hard to continue working on it.

Did you have super glue to fix the chair? Or did you just sit in a chair with three legs? Or maybe you play CS standing up now. well however you really should get a toilet to replace the chair becuase then you can sit in the same spot all day :) that's my wisdom of the day.

On the subject, it would make sense for all the hackers to make hacks and then submit them... Or at least i would :) but i don't knowhow to hack all well. including i only have 56K connection :P

And spoonman? why do you have MikeJ's gif fly past on your gif? If you said something before i must have missed it...

who here can actualy testify to never using a hack... EVER.. (game hack that is)

i know for sure i can't say i havn't used any... the point is... jus about everyone has... and i've payed for it too.. (about 30 bucks at walmart)

i can't wait till everyone that does hack ends up paying that 30 dollars

exactly, they didnt start a new game, they stayed updating the game we play.satisfying costumers from years ago,i think that says alot.

They done the same thing the Unreal Tournament guys have done- implimenting no cheating in the eula. All for the better of course, I play both ut2k4 and cs.

public cheats will be easy to get caught, but pretty soon people will be learning to make private cheats. of course this is much harder but private cheats go very long without being detected. my friend (not being hypothetical in ANY way) cheated and still cheats, and he's using a cheat that was a popular public cheat back in 1.4 or 1.5, and cheat sites started taking it off for some reason around 1.5-1.6. it's a very rare cheat and he still uses it and its been still undetected since early 1.4. i'm not saying that's whats going to happen with all private cheats, but it's something to consider.

to help out the anti-cheat movement, maybe i'll go tom cruise style like in mission:impossible, onto my friends computer and get that hack onto a floppy!

by the way, great job on vac valve!

I don't know about you guys, but I didn't read anything that said VAC updates will be happening more frequently. Also having the hacks and setting up a detection isn't as easy as 1-2-3. Now instead of looking for hacks, Valve can spend their time sifting out the beta hacks from 0-day virii.

Non-monetary reward could be just promptional material that they give out to registered cyber-cafes.
