How long does it take to add proper crosshairs for the AUG/SIG? Maybe an hour for someone to make them, then 5 minutes to put them in.
They already did it =) (maybe 3 months ago ?)

      Play more, speak less.

Exectly why do AWP users need 10 rounds in a magazine when they are 1-hit kill weapons? Is realoading for a few seconds after 5 shots that much of a hassle?

I agree. 5 shots are more than OK.

thought crossed my mind today...I wonder if they're slowly making CS worse and worse just to push people to CS2 whenever it's ready...making CS2 how everybody knows it should be, and used to be with CS pre v1.6, just so you're forced to buy the new one if you want good gameplay again. Kinda like record companies seem to be doing their best to make CDs sound worse and worse, so when their new format is launched with "better" sound, you're forced to buy your collection all over again because of how they ruined the current CD releases to make the new format sound so much better by comparison.

I dunno about anyone else, but that aznhomig guy (on forumplanet) just pissed me off. He deserves to be kicked in the head.

About the prices, I don't get why I'd want to pay less for a gun that still won't get me a kill (most likely)? Is that so I can buy the next round?

I think the actual guns them-self need change not the prices: an increase in damage or accuracy.

I'm not going to buy an UMP because its cheaper when I still can't kill anyone.

You guys do realize that there is a reason why 5 guns are used right?

The shotguns, for example, are absolutely terrible. You need 2+ pumps at 5 meters. How is that thing ever going to be useful at any time?

Fix the bad weapons; don't force them to be bought. It pleases no one and pisses everyone off. Being forced to play a certain way is the worse thing you can do to a community.

Well this is shite, frankly. The pub side of CS is much bigger then the e-sports side, not to mention that actually the changes wouldn't have effected matches all that much - it would just mean people would have to learn how to use more then just the same two weapons - and that just promotes skill in the game. Right now most players are pretty mucht he same, sticking to the same few weapons, playing the same old way - these changes would have stopped that and meant there was some variation.

0mar, you're saying being forced to use the 'bad' weapons is bad? Well right now you're forced to use the AK/M4A1/AWM because anythign less and you're dead meat. And even if they got rid of those weapons entirely and we had to sue the 'bad' weapons, it wouldn't matter because everyone would be using them - it's not like you'd b the only poor bugger with a shotgun (which by the way, can be very good weapons if you know how to use them correctly - of course few people can use them correctly, which is why the price changes would have been good as it'd force people into having to learn how to use the more 'skillful' weapons).

If you want a boring game where everyone uses the same few weapons and nobody can be bothered to learn how to play skillfully then you should be playing UT or Quake - CS should be about being as skillful as you can, and these price changes would have helped that. The price changes would have improved CS in every single way - as it is right now it's biased as hell towards the Ts except in the first pistol round - and there would have been no disadvantage to it at all. Anyone who says it would have made it worse is evidently a boring AK/M4/basic pistol whore who is too lazy to learn how to use more then three weapons properly.

But no, they listen to the e-sports community and their bitching about the AK, and thus the actual majority are screwed. Great that is.

                      Conspiracy theory alert ...

The money changes were a smoke screen to take your minds off the failure to release the opaque radar (promised weeks ago), the failure to fix the existing and well documented bugs, the failure to do anything about the incredibly dumb hossie AI (sewer ladders anyone?), the failure to fix Friends, the failure to release any official new map that's balanced and fun to play, the failure to distribute CS:CZ to only the people that wanted it and, the biggest failure of all, the failure to unite the CS community behind CS:CZ.

You can now expect to see CS:CZ as being the only current VALVe product that will receive ongoing support and development. CS 1.6 will be slowly but surely smothered. The CS community will be initially split down the middle as tournaments and leagues move across to CZ servers. Eventually, CS 1.6 will be played on a few die-hard servers only.

As for CS2: VALVe's HL2 source code debacle has lost them the initiative they had with their new HL2 engine. Already, Far Cry's engine is looking just as sweet and Doom 3 is now just around the corner.

Half-Life was, and is, a fantastic game but unless we see an early, polished release of CS2 then VALVe will remain, in my eyes, a one-hit wonder.

Yeah right.. First go play games like UT or Quake on a descent level before you make stupid comments like that.. Don't get me wrong, I like CS, played it for 4+ years now, but what you claim here is just bullshit.. In no way CS requires more skill or makes people play more skillfully, it requires some different skills maybe, but certainly not more etc.. I even think CS is easier because it is a lot slower, movement is more simple and it's kindof spray & pray a lot of times.. That's also a reason why CS is so popular, it's easy to learn and get into, games like UT & Quake have a much higher learning curve imho.. And non-stop fast DM action can imho never be more boring then the much slower gameplay of CS where you sit around doing nothing for 50% of the time.. CS is alot of fun in clanwars, but on publics I rather play some good old fast DM in UT (fov 120 baby)..

                        Thxs..

I'm all for improving the weapons.../somewhat/. Not everything should be 'awesome', but you should be able to kill with it. I actually think the autosniper buffs and the dualies buff were on the mark. The T autosniper, costing more than an awp I believe...is better than an awp, except that it still isn't one-hit-kill. Which gives the enemy about .6 seconds longer to react than an awp does.

If all the good awpers started using the gsg31, it'd be insane. The gsg31 has almost none of the awp's drawbacks, except for that 'not an instant kill' factor. However, awpers that can actually aim and snap headshots can still get that instant kill. Awpers that kill people by shooting their wrists and elbows would hate the gsg31, since it's actually a balanced gun.

The CT autosniper isn't really that great of a gun. It's not as completely sucky as it was, but it's still not up there enough to be on par with the awp or gsg31. It's also cheaper than both.

As far as every other non-used gun...scout got a good enough boost. People can actually scout now, if they're good with it, with the exception of AK (and slightly M4) at long range.

I strongly agree that the AK and M4 are too 'all-round' to benefit any of the other guns.

Take the M3 for instance. This gun should be a 1-hit kill when you're less than 5 feet from them. It just should be. But when you're behind them and maybe a couple pixels off, you do 9 damage. Yes, that isn't a typo. They then turn around and headshot you with their AK or M4 and you're the dead newbie that isn't using an AK or M4 yourself.

XM1014 (autoshotty) should be to the M3 like the T autosniper is to an awp. Better in most circumstances, except for the one-hit-kill factor.

Certain things should be like that around the board. The Para should have a high rate of fire, a LOW amount of damage, but a high amount of destroy-target's-accuracy kind of thing (rock their screen to death).

Another thing is that just about every one of the 'popular' guns (with the exception of deagle) has 'stopping' power. That is, if you get hit, and you're not dead, you stand still for a good second or so before you can even begin running away. Why use any other gun that doesn't have this stopping power?

I strongly agree with this stopping power and feel it should either be removed (best idea) or be added to every gun in the game (horrible idea). Or remove this stopping power from AK/M4/AWP and add it to the lesser-used guns (scout, tmp, mac10, para even).

You don't have to change recoil and spread patterns and whatever...just the hitboxes and the interp. With one exception...please remove the ease with which an AK can pop a headshot on long distance targets. No other unscoped gun can pop a headshot that easily at long range, and adding anti-sniper to the list of qualities the AK already has is pointless. It should be great at taking out NON-snipers at long distance, though. Even a scout should kill an AKer, assuming equal skill of both, and they're at the scout's preferred range.

I've been griping about the AK's headshot at long range for awhile now...I've learned to deal with it, and honestly it's only the people who can aim that can pop it off...but guns that don't have the instant-kill factor (basically the awp only) but still have scopes (aug/sg552/sg550/gsg31/scout) ALL lose to an AKer who strafes out, comes to a quick stop, and pops that headshot with 1 or 2 bullets.

It's even worse when he strafes left, shoots, strafe rights, shoot, strafe left, shoot, etc, where he has 100% mobility and can basically dodge bullets, while having 100% accuracy, whereas you have 0% mobility from trying to stabilize your shot and 0% accuracy because of the moving, unpredictable target.

That's basically how CS is now, I know, and I deal with it that way, but that doesn't mean I think it's right. That kind of thing is why everyone uses an AK.

The only other balance change I would strongly suggest would be the removal of arm-kills on the awp. Chest and head can kill, but arm just wounds. This'd go hand in hand with hitbox improvements.

But I definitely agree, while the price changes would help, I doubt they would work without actually changing the guns themselves.

I am with the gotfrag community most times, not on this one though. I think the ak increase is a bit much, besides that I am for these changes. I think CS needs it, most of these changes really make sense.
