Nope, no movement speed changed.
The thing that's getting me most in this update:
#1: The crosshairs are huge. I 100% agree with the idea that the crosshairs should scale and be the same size regardless of resolution...I'd just like that size to be smaller.
If, however, the size of the crosshairs are an accurate representation of the accuracy of your shot, (as in, your bullet can land anywhere within the general area of the crosshairs when they're dynamic) then fine. This doesn't seem to be the case, however.
Basically, the 'advantage' of having smaller crosshairs on a higher resolution will be given instead to the 'advantage' of having a sprite or something instead.
#2: The headshot symbol. I like new things and I like knowing which gun. But the thing is huge and ugly. Even if you simply made it smaller, it'd be fine. It's just kinda big right now. Again, I like the idea, but the graphic is kinda...off.
#3: The solid radar. I have no clue what anti-aliasing means. But I think you should make it a little prettier than it is. It's very useful as it is now, it could just use a little graphical tweak (like the way you rounded the corners).Comment

I hate to see a game that about a year ago affected my social life, social skills, grades and friends. CS was such a huge phenomenon, and now it's gone, snapped. When CS ends, it won't be in the paper, and it won't be in any history book. I went from playing CS four hours a day to 5 minutes a week.
I opened CZ, played two rounds, went 1-8, typed exit in the console and shouted a nice loud "fuck".
All I have to say is hooray for Battlefield: Vietnam and Day of Defeat.
It was fun while it lasted.Comment

fyi, its exactly what u wanted from the radar, anti alias is a gfx option you can set on ur driver to smooth out the general blocky pixels. its not just used in games but everywhere. fonts borders. so long as the blockyiness of things are smoothed out and blurred a bit.GhettoHistorian wrote..

the only gripe i have about the patch is the crosshair. why in gods name would you make it that size universally? its really really annoying. one of the main reason i use a high res is so the crosshair is smaller. at least give us a choice! im not saying get rid of it but how hard would it be to give us a choice between small, medium and rediculous sized crosshairs? every other game has caught on to this idea already!Comment

ok, so my opinion probably won't stand for much on most of your eyes,( i started playing cs late 1.5, and imo steam/1.6 was a welcome update) and quite frankly I couldn't really give a fuck tbh. But heres my view on the situation.
1. For all of you moaning, give up, it is unlikely to change anything, if you are that unhappy with it, just go play 1.5 on the few uk2 servers that are left, or stop playing cs. Stop bitching about it, no one cares.
2. The crosshair, i found it damn annoying to start with, moaned a little in my clan chan, within an hour of playing i got used to it, its not a whole lot different, and ok, so i dont get quite as many hs (its alot harder at long range, but isnt this game about skill?) but i seem to be playing better. And yes, i can see why people moan about this, but theres no point repeating it over and over again.
3. The AWM, ok, call me a noob or whatever, i personally hate coming up against an awm, its a 50/50 thing for me, im not saying awm sucks, i try to use it, i know its actually quite hard to stay alive with it, and it DOES take skill, the delay is a welcome addition tbh, the only thing i really used the quickswitch for was to unscope, i have no problem with using a different button to do that now. (mouse2)
4. the hs icon, i barely notice it, i like to see what guns people are using, great idea, one i thought should have been added since i first play cz and seen it, ok, the hs icon may be a little ugly, but you can change it, stop bitching!
5. the radar, this is great, i have been caught out so many times on dust, looking down at the floor to see my radar, ok so those edges aint pretty, but who cares, its a 5 year old game on a 7 year old engine! those of you who really can remember the old beta's should appreciate what cs is like, if you dont remember/didnt play take a look at cs classic! that certainly made me appreciate what we have.

Has anyone but me noticed sense valve officially got its hands on CS the game has really went nothing but down hill I mean come on this seems like a bunch of old guys siting behind a desk going OMFG we just figured out how to make the game better then it was when they really seam to have no god damn idea of how to run a Multi player game CS becomes a hit thus valve takes it over thus valve kills it the end don't expect CS2 to be all that good if valve has its hands in it i mean come on take a look at condition zero and tell me dose valve have any clue wtf they are doing ?

tbh, are you being serious, or are you just doing this to make it all sound worse? i can still get my hs fine, you really wanna admit that someone thats been playing for around a year is playing better than you (supposedly playing for 3 years?)
and tbh, do you remember pre 1.6? how much harder it was to get a hs,
and people asking for this crosshairsize option, it aint gunna happen, the closest that it could ever possibly get to would be that it would be like it used to be by default, and there would be an option to make it bigger, but this isnt the point, the point of it is to make it a fair game for everyone, no matter what res they use.
ffs, just adapt, if cs didnt change people would get bored of it, simple. Why should newer players put ut with constantly getting owned by cs-veterans?
and as for the awp, saying 3 years down the drain, its not that much different, and unless you have serious learning dificulties, then shouldnt take that long to adapt to.Comment

They dont care... that is the problem. That is the thing that has led many people who played cs before to quit. That is what will lead people now to quit. And that is what will continue to make people quit. Morons up top that have no idea what the people really want and when they are told they dont listen...
