using a gun that is *not-so-uber-1337* like a mac10 or the P90 requires more skill and tactics than ripping your enemies apart with your unsilenced m4, but in my eyes is also more fun.



btw, i like the changes, makes for an interesting change and it makes for more interesting clan matches imho.

I think the AK should cost the same as the M4, as they are both as effective as each other. But I think instead of lowering the prices of the guns no one uses, they should make them more effective.

Only things need changing is:



AK - $200/300 more expensive



Aug / 552 - $200/300 cheaper



And maybe the AWP $50 more expensive to 4800 just cos the 50 annoys me :p

for the most part, i think the changes are good. even though, i think they should lower the price of the AK by 200/300 dollars and the mp5 is too expensive. but i totally agree with the awp changes and making the galil more than the famas. making the awp 5400 will definitely decrease the amount of getting into a situation where every person on the other team has an awp, it's just not fun at all. nice job Cliffe, keep up the good work.

I mean if you look at the history of the AWP through the various CS versions you see a steady decline in its dominating power. I mean back in the 7.0 to 1.0 days you could AWP rush with ease. I think (this is just my opinion here) that Cliffe and all want the AWP to become more of defensive weapon, not something you can use as an assault rifle, which it is still used for. (Assault rifle as in running with it, turning the corner instantly and blowing someone's head off)



As for the AK price increase, I think it will be more balanced since now if the CT's lose first round, they're not left with the MP5 v. AK 2-3 round option. Now both teams will have to rely on the MP5/Deagle 2-3 rounds. In other words, the AK is now about the same price as the M4 and it's more fair to CT's and T's.



PS: It's been ages since I've been in a CS clan so I'm probably not a good judge of weapon price balance.

I like the new prices. They didn't mention anything about the 552, though.



This is just one way they can 'balance' the guns, as opposed to changing things such as rate of fire, spread, etc.



They don't want all of the guns to be alike, but they want them all to be viable.



People don't buy a para because it sucks, and you can get an awp for cheaper, anyway. With the changes, more people might start buying the para, just because it's not such a waste of money anymore.



The AK and M4 are the "uber-leet nub-killing wonderguns", the awp too, and I feel they should be nerfed in SOME way. I guess a price increase would do.



I don't care if you're good with them. Everyone's good with them. The problem is they're practically the ONLY GUNS USED, with the mp5 being the 'cheap alternative' and the awp being the 'sniper rifle'. Deagle is then the only 'pistol' that gets bought, except maybe USP's for Terrorists.



Glock, USP, Deagle, Mp5, M4, AK, Awp. Seven guns. Six, if you don't count glock because most T's will drop it and pick up a USP asap.



That doesn't count both sniper rifles (although the T sniper rifle can be seen more often now), both scoped rifles (aug/552), both 'cheap' rifles (galil and famas), EVERY other submachine gun, ANY shotgun, and most of the 'other' pistols. And the para.



Seriously, to all those people who think CS is an AK-M4-only game and that the other guns are just 'to distract newbies', grow up. They put the guns in the game for variety and they're going to balance them until they're useable and not a waste of money.



Step one: Assume that the final goal is to allow all guns to be worth whatever price they are, compared to the prices of better and crappier guns.

Step two: Assuming you've done step one, THEN you can complain/whine/suggest/comment.

No. The AK isn't as effective as the colt in some cases. Although the AK can be better at long range, at mid range colt is more useful.



But yeah I agree they should make the crap weapons more effective rather than making the effective ones cheaper.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea. What is the point in this? Trying to have weapon diversity? To give less-used weapons a chance? Those 4 weapons are bought the most because they're the most versatile and good for the money. I'm not sure how the early rounds in a game would be played now if those prices were hiked up. Certainly different guns, yes, but it would probably force players to save more money and hence buy weaker guys. I don't know, I'm just guessing.
