Christ the HL Vs UT one is really close... only 27 votes in it. Well, make that 28, I'm voting UT again. It's just more fun to be perfectly honest.

LOL... nah, it just makes me happy to see a DM game beating or at least just BARELY losing to the "almighty HL". I'll never forgive VALVe for all the bugs they have caused and never fixed (elevator lock-up bug).
Does this mean I have to stop liking CS and HL?!

Sorry but UT should win tis one. Original Half-Life ain't that great - it's the mods for it that are great, it's the mods for it that people are still playing. How many of you can say that only yesterday you went can completed Half-Life again? Exactly. People still play the original UT with no modifcations, enough to still have thousands of servers for it running. Almost nobody plays original Half-Life now, un modified. UT should win this, logically.Comment

Small pointless bugs? Ever play original HL? This is no small bug, this is a game hendering bug that is only avoidable if you jump the whole time you are on the elevator. Everytime you forget to jump, have fun redoing everything you did since the last save point.

It happened to me all of twice going through SP HL the first time, and after that I knew how to avoid it. You don't have to jump the whole time... just before it comes to rest. Stupid bug, yes, but some of us were bright enough to save before getting on the elevator after the first time it happened to us.
Anyway, luckily nobody cares what you'll "never forgive VALVe" about, and when we get lucky, a bunch of the annoying whiners who claim to never play CS or HL anymore will just leave.
Finally, when it comes to the grudge match of HL vs. UT, I'm including mods like Infiltration when I consider how good UT is, so it's not particularly unfair to consider CS, DoD, NS, etc when you think about Half-Life.
Of course, we all know that Half-Life wouldn't have stood a chance in this match if it weren't for Ricochet...Comment

HL pulling ahead finally...I cant help wondering how many votes UT would have got if the latest version had just been released (3?)
HLs going through this rabid anti-fanboi stage where people wail, nash their teeth and pull out their hair proclaiming their everlasting hatred for Valve.
These are the same people, who, in ten years time once they've got past puberty, will be voting for HL in a simmilar future poll for 'nostalgias sake'...
You can only laugh and wish you were ten years old with no responsibilities :)Comment

Unreal Tournament play gets old quick. The only reason its getting so many votes is that this new UT game is out. And it sucks btw, getting run over by a ship over and over isnt lack of skills, its bad spawn design, you spawn in an area that you cant get out of if there is one or two vehicles running through it every 10 seconds. This is the demo btw, I'd never buy the game itself.
I was told to get UT because it had "the best multiplayer". I bought it, played it for about three weeks then uninstalled. I then went out and got Half Life, I spent the next couple days playing its single player addictively. When I finished I started to play Team Fortress Classic, until finally I downloaded Counter-Strike, at which time I never went back to either TFC or UT.
Frankly, Half Life has better single player than UT does multiplayer, despite an elevator bug, which btw I NEVER encountered unless I was right up against a wall. And, YES, I did just recently play Half Life single player all the way through again. It was just as glorious the forth, or was it fifth, time around as it was the first. Besides, there are hardly any single player games one would play more than once or twice. Without at least a years gap between plays that is.
Sorry to all those that "swear" to UT being better than Half Life or Counter-Strike. It's not, and your lack of numbers proves that.Comment
