Uhh, Valve changedt it.

It's funny when people don't realize how many ppl actually play this game. If every cs player visited csnation after every update you would see the same problems here you see with steampowered.com



Not to mention the ddos attack they were receiving during the latest update.

That's the thing - I don't think ANYONE realises how many people play the game. Even Valve. The best estimates we have could be out by as much as 25%, due to the various forms/platforms of CS (HL Mod, Retail, Steam, even solely LAN play - which is almost impossible to estimate).



I heard a stat the other week that made me laugh though - 'apparently' there are as many CS players in China as there are people in the UK. Then again, go by 'now-playing' stats and there aren't more than 10,000 players across the world.

A while back I remember seeing on computerandvideogames.com (which is usully up-to-date and keeps a tally on things like how many people are playign what games, what games are currently most played etc) that in one month almost 6 and a half million people had played CS (both 1.5 and 1.6 together). Imagine if 6.5 million people tried to update and play all at once... me thinks that'd crash the Steam content servers :happy:

omg this is preloading cz into my cache file how do i stop it.

whats the point of downloading it before the release atleast let us have a choice of not downloading it. Im not going to buy it so why im i downloading it!!!!!

ya really, everytime steam goes down, they blame it on a DDoS attack. Who cares enough about Steam and Valve to attack it?
