I never said NASCAR or F1 isn't physical, I was drawing parallels. As a side note, in China, gaming is the 99th OFFICIAL sport of the country by I believe the Chinese Olympic Committee or something. Just some more food for thought



And #35 I don't need this "pathetic" job you think I have. I am choosing to go down a different path than my fellow classmates who are graduating and pursuing more traditional jobs. We're pioneering something new and it may work it may not, but I think given the trends in companies to add gaming specific staff, the Nielsen ratings to start to measure ads in games, and the popularity of gaming it would be ignorant of us to say that competitive and professional gaming won't evolve. People are drawn to things they themselves like to do.



What you want to call a sport / athlete is up to you and I guess all in the interpretation but gaming, like many other activities and sports, requires a tremendous amount of skill. The spectator aspect is only going to develop as time goes on and we learn how to properly tap into this all.

1: cs 1.6 is dead, make way for the future (CS:S). (it IS the #1 most played game. Then only after 2-3 games goes 1.6, dropping its "mojo" every month). Too bad you guys aren't that good in CS:S, cause you won't need luck (CS 1.6's random shots) to beat people.

2: stop finding a way to make cheap money by interviewing people who are stock-ups.



i fucking love this site, I visit this site more than once a day, I read EVERY SOTD review, and I look at EVERY new POTD. This SITE is a good example of CS's poineer. Paying money to get lessons in a game that requires point and shoot isnt a good way to "pioneer".

I agree with all your comment except that. The fact that people DO actually pay money for it shows that it works. Its something that hasn't reallly be done before, so yes, hes pioneering.



On my personal thought, I wouldn't consider gaming a 'sport' by any lengths, but it does have its competitiveness as someone else said above.

CS may be technically a sport "on paper" if you analyse every single part of a definition on sport/athlete etc. but until the world recognises it as a sport, it will always be just a game nerds play in confined darkened spaces.

lol, i KNOW they do pay, i KNOW that it does work, but the fact is that those people are hardcore no-lifes. They are probably paying more money to sit on a computer (which is very unhealthy) and learing a point and shoot game than paying for something healhty and maybe help you in life, like baseball or football or tennis, etc.
