dkpowers, you are now saying that the environment that will is in and the people around him are the reason he has braincancer, and if he dies, it is basically his own fault because his life sucks. even if that is true, it seems a very harsh and offending thing to say.
It is a form of a suicide. I know it may sound harsh and offending to some and I apologize for that. Cancer isn't usually one's own fault. Maybe it's the naggin' wife, the extremely bossy boss, it could be because he's suppressing his emotions. It could be anything but most likely the change in scene would help...

cancer is caused by mutations in the DNA. usually , these mutations are noticed by the cell, and the cell commits suicide, so that it cannot reproduce. sometimes, however, the mutation is so serious that it takes out this suicide and rpevention system, and it does get the cance to reproduce. and it keeps on reproducing, uncontrollably. your immunology system does fight it, but as with many things, it usually just can't cope, and a tumor is created. if these reproducing tumor cells enter your blood, they can go to other places in your body, and start other tumors there. my mother had lungcancer, but it spread to her brains, and she got 9 braintumors, which killed her because of the room they took in, and the energy they used up to keep groing.

as far as i know it, we do not always have cancer cells, and some things, the immunology system just isn't strong enough for. if it was, happy people would never get sick. if it was, i would be dead by now

this is what i know of cancer, i learned it in biology class and learned about it because my mother had cancer. what is your knowledge based upon?

Why heal one man when you can donate to a cancer research fund, so a cure will be found quicker?
If you donate to him, you know that you have helped a certain person. You can find out how he is getting on, and when (god-willing) he is cured.

No, you're right, I don't know whether it is a scam or not. But I do have the right to tell you to 'shut your mouths' because you're being down-right disrespectful. How do you think he would feel reading these comments? Put yourself in his position for a second.

And why should he have to provide evidence? If you feel you can part with $5 in the hope that you will save a boy's life, that's great. Is it not worth it to know that you might have saved a life to donate a little, even if you have doubts that it is a scam?

Oh please your missing the essential fact. Theres millions of people that get cancer each year and cant afford treatment.

There is no need to plee to an internet community, go get a loan, call your relatives, sell something (your computer for example) but for christ sake dont go on the internet and plee for charity on a Counter Strike site. Or any site for that matter.

As for the 'Its only $5' bullcrap, if only 100 people give $5 thats alot of money, its alot of scammed money.

I cant even believe this news item exists, I wouldve thought rizzuh would have the mental competance to thoroughly research this case or atleast used common sense and realised a news item like this doesnt belong here.

My knowledge is based mostly on doctors and my own observations. Doctors found something "extra" in my body through ultra and they said that it is for 99% chance a cancer tumor. After half a year of tests and waiting the "extra" thing diminished in size gradually and the doctors said that it is prolly a "bag of fluid". But during that time of not-knowing I learned a lot about cancer. The doctors said, when they took a blood test to look for cancer proteins, that everyone has cancer cells in one's body, always.

I started to study psychology and learned about incidents where "death-row" cancer patients changed their lives etc. etc. took therapy etc. etc. and they became well again.

I recently did a paper study on the effects of psychological problems in relation to cancer. I got full points *boasts*

sorry to hear that. you don't say if it really is cancer or not, but i hope it all turns out well for you.

the knowledge that i have states that what you say is impossible. a cancer cell does not reproduce because before a cell reproduces, it checks its own DNA for errors. and unless this system of checking itself for errors is damaged, it will not reproduce when it finds errors, but in stead kill itself. mutations happen all the time, but many of them are insignificant.

obviously, will's and many other people's mutations weren't insignificant. i still find it shocking that so many have had experiences with cancer, with themselves or with friends. this makes me very sad indeed.

EDIT: yes, i do agree with you that good faith and a positive attitudein life do help cure cancer. but the opposite of this does not cause cancer.

bearing in mind the hundreds of thousands of people who lok at this site, amongst, ti seenms othes all around the world carrying the ame story, if only 1~% of people are happ to donate, this guy will have far moe cash than he requires for his treatment? What will he do with the excess, how will he avoid the tax burden? Is this purely gifted moeny he has no tax liability, so can earn cash by being ill? and will we have a chance to see this account dclared as a registered charity or public ltd company so that we may see its openly audited accoutns at year end, to find out where the money accountably went to.

Im sure this kind of internet begging whether genuine or not, is steeped in legal ramifications concerning obtaining money by deception etc. and tax law. Poor kid could end up getting f'ed over by the irs or whatever they have in Canada.

Anyhoo, eat d*** or whatever doesnt suggest the right vybes, and neither do irc interviews. If its true, then, sorry you are being made a mockery of for poor presentation of facts. If its false, then burn in hell for it.

                              To quote DovSkurlock (#41)

"I for one, do not believe CSnation would put a scam on their front page"

How much would you like to bet on that one. Like CS-Nation is totally sure and have gone on location to meet this guy. Give me a break, its just a site that has various guys posting stuff they've come across, etc, this isn't the CNN website.

Back to subject, GL to Will, but honestly, I think it's lame to ask for donations from CS players. It's just putting people on the spot for some etchy and unconfortable conversation. You go from people saying disrespectful things, doubts about scams, argueing, etc. It just doesn't seem like a situation to bring people together like some kind of "fundraiser" would do. When it comes to asking for cold cash, the internet is just not the place.

Sorry, but I just have to be blatant about it because I'm done with reading posts. Goodluck on owning the cancer, do it 24-0.

                              *Edit*

I also wanted to add after reading a couple extra comments, that after studying psychology for a bit, there honestly is a lot of connection with your state of mind and the bodies health. Read as much of you can on Psychosymatic injuries and healing and you will learn how important the mind is. Really a basis for "spirtuality" in general. Your mind can subconciously cause changes in your body. A easy example would be stomach aches, which are primarily caused by the mind, not the stomach or any physical organ.

Talk to a hypnotists and they will tell you they can cause injuries or heal physical ailments just by making you think something is actually there. I'm still researching it a bit more but if any of you guys have detailed information about hypnotism from first person experience, email me, I'd appreciate it.
