Host a banner for the guy!!! (not with his picture, but send him the profits)

I don't really think that this is a scam, but I find it strange too that such a modern country as Canada does not pay for something as simple as radiation therapy(of course it might be special treatment because it's a brain tumor, and I don't know how much that costs). I live in Hungary, a small and not-too-rich country, but the state pays for it even here.

Anyway the topic got about a 150 posts on CSHU (CS HUngary) forums, so it is indeed a hot topic.
      Can you link me?

Wow, I don't believe what I am reading!

Here we have a man with a very real and very lethal medical problem, who for whatever cause can not gather the needed money to buy his own life back. I myself do not know the man, or the player. However, I feel certain that, being as I read this news on CS Nation, that this man is real, is sick, and does in fact need help. I like to think that CS Nation is, large enough and base strongly enough, so as to be a site that would carelessly report false information like some two-bit tabloid. I would like to think that because this information is here, it is truthful, and not a scam. And if that be the case, that Will is a close member of this community, and in need of help. But then, for a group of people so quick to say that they support each other, and that we are all part of a 'community', the replies here certainly don't display our 'communities' ability to help one another, or even trust the people that bring our 'community' its information.

A person, a member of our so-called 'community' now has a terrible disease, and needing our help, puts pride aside and asks us, and the reply we give is: oh look another scam. and: oh well, he's just one out of millions, let him die. I'm ashamed now to admit that I have spent years playing this game, and reading 'community' sites like this one, and spent so much time and effort helping clans, or mod sites, or whomever I happened to find and get to know...

Regardless of the cold heart of the rest of the community, I will send Will what I can. Being a college student, I don't have much. But being a person who has had family members touched by cancer, I will send in what I can, and I will ask anyone out there reading this with any heart at all to do the same.

I'd like to donate to Will, but being 15 in the UK and without a paypal account it would be quite hard.

Instead, I would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

To all those people who are calling this a scam — please, just send the guy $5, when you're on your deathbed and are looking back at the stuff you did in your life you will know you did something because it was morally right.

I'll donate what I can, and I for one am with people like Flynn. The fact he isn't even asking for the money shows that, at least, some people care for him, and for those people I'm grateful.

I also agree, it is really sick that some of you think this is a scam. I don't have all the answers for you, I don't know why Will is receiving radiation in the states and not in Canada. I don't see why it matters if someone else is going to pay for his treatment or not. I don't see why it matters where he gets his treatment.

If you believe this is a scam, simply don't donate and don't bother posting. I honestly don't want to read about how you think this is a scam.

If i remember corerctly wasnt there a scam pulled last year on csradio where they ran a vigil room in irc and had nuff donatiopns for a US based disc jockey by the name of Blurry? So the cs community has been burned before. Anyway USA continental medical cafre sux, We have the NHS and pay for everyones welfare through our taxes, its called SOCIAL CONSCIENCE. sure pay billions to go yomping aroundthe world to kick Saddam n Bin Ladens butt, but let millions remain homeless and die at home because yo dont give a shit. GG USA>

Oh Nad they lose their hair because of the CHemo therapy which is the harmful chemical drugs that are ingested, this happens way before the radiation gets em...

And another thing, why is one guy so imoportant when millions are dying daily of disease starvation and injustice? Yeh u may say because hes a counterstrike player, how perverse ios that? when there are millions that have never even seen a computer to get cs who may have been or would be, the next Heaton potti or even average cs player dude. FFS< This is so frustrating. Give your money to africa aid or even better spend it on a decent education cos you kids are seriously unbalanced and more poeple in the world will die and suffer as a result of your ignorance in the future.

i'd be skeptical. there have been other people that have faked things online, heck there was even one kid in the cs community that pretended that they died. then it turns out he just completely faked it, and wanted to see what would people do if he did.

Yes and how many people in any community have had cancer and financial problems? I dont see them getting there plees posted on news sites. Its good they arent because every community on the net would have 10 -15 news posts asking for money every week.

                      Get a friggen clue.

Other people may have had financial problems. One thing, their wasn't a kind-hearted person to put up an article about donations.

Will is special as are we. Lots of people die of cancer, yes. One less can make me feel good so why not try?

People have every right to be sceptical about this donation business, after all, why should people have to donate to it.

You log onto the internet, go to your fave cs news source, and theres somebody you don't know, asking for money so they can treat a disease they say they have. IMO this reeks of dodginess, and I also think that this is a highly inappropriate place to ask/seek such financial aid.

I also would have thought that new experimental treatments would be free, seeing as you're doing the people a favour by letting them know if it works.

I give blood as regularly as the donation service in the UK will allow me to, so don't even try and even try and direct the ignorant not-caring mumbo-jumbo at me.

I think its the opposite in Canada, if you are covered by Health Care, then chances are you'll be able to get regular cancer treament services. But for experimental, I can only imagine how much it would cost to goto the US, and be able to pay for expensive experimental cancer treatment. Its a well-known fact that, cdns goto the US for specialized treatments of various forms of cancer. I just hope Will gets his experimental treatment. Don't get me wrong, Canada has a excellent Health Care system, but when it comes down to experimental treatments & drugs, the government is weary of insuring experimental drugs that they are not 100% sure, work.

As for the whole issue of "Is this a scam ?", lmao, "booohooo", 5 measley dollars, is that too much too ask for ? Its not like you are donating a whole pay-cheque or life-saving, and what do you get in return ? Saving someones life !!? I'll be donating some cash right about now. My dad died of throat & lung cancer in june 2003, so I truly feel his pain. And for those of you that keep going on about this is a scam and all, "get a life", noone wants to see posts like that in a news post about a guy thats dying.

The way I see it people should be able to comment what they like about the news post as long as it isn't too offensive. I thought that the idea of the 'comments' system was that you actually 'commented' on the news post?

Sigh.. You still have to pay for the treatment with Canadian Health Care, you just get some of the money back during taxes.
