i myself was diagnosed with leukemia march last year and luckily enough have a strong enough major medical plan that so far most of the chemotherapy was covered, and also lucky enough not to need radiation. my personal advice to will would be to transfer ownership of possessions(house/car etc..) and seek out the help of one of the many organizations dedicated to helping people, also getting a group of friends/family together and running a local fundraiser. that said, i wish will and anyone in his situation the best of luck.
p.s. on the hair loss, i know chemotherapy causes hair loss, and that separate from radiation. radiation may cause hair loss but if he's been to a doctor i imagine they'd give him some chemo pills to slow the tumor as fast as possible until they could give him radiation treatments or do surgery to remove it.
hmm on the subject of chemotherapy pills, they don't glow green ;P you wouldn't believe how many people have asked that question -_-Comment

It just seems like an unbelievable situation in many respects, but, even if it were true, it seems odd that he should ask the million or so CS players (yeah, real "community,") for help instead of family or friends. Especially when I am pretty sure the Canadian government pays for all health care. If it is true, good luck and I hope you can get through this horrible time.

If it's really a scam, yes.
Let it be known, Will did not ask you for the help, I did. It was my idea to try and get other Counter-Strike players to assist him in being healed. Was I wrong in doing so?
If it's not a scam, then kind of.
Just explain why can't he get the Canadian government to pay for this?Comment

I asked him.
^.j()$h.^: Yeah I would send you money but I just don't have any.

First of all, my stepfather has prostate cancer. You people who keep talking about scams and "will the canadian government pay for it" need to take a step away from the computer and realize that this is a very real life disease, and it is in fact curable, depending on when they catch it and what kind of treatment is applied. Brain tumors are another thing. That is perhaps one of the worst things you can get. I will be sending will money, and I will be contacting those around me and having them send money and condolences. Will, hang tough man, there are those around you that still care, regardless of the prognosis.
For all of you claiming this to be a scam, I for one, do not believe CSnation would put a scam on their front page. Get off the high horse and come back to the real world. He's not asking for millions. He's not even asking for it. If you don't want to send him any money, then dont' send him money, but don't sit on here and call it a scam.

Host a banner for the guy!!! (not with his picture, but send him the profits)
I don't really think that this is a scam, but I find it strange too that such a modern country as Canada does not pay for something as simple as radiation therapy(of course it might be special treatment because it's a brain tumor, and I don't know how much that costs). I live in Hungary, a small and not-too-rich country, but the state pays for it even here.
Anyway the topic got about a 150 posts on CSHU (CS HUngary) forums, so it is indeed a hot topic.Comment
