CS2 to be bundled with ATI Radeons?

According to this article in the Inquirer, ATI is preparing to ship Counter Strike 2 vouchers with their Radeon 420XT's - this is all beginning to sound familiar.



Given Valve's inability to deliver Half Life 2 to a deadline so far this voucher give away shouldn't be seen as a sign that CS2 is nearing completion. Did anyone here get their Half Life 2 voucher with their 9800XT?

What all this rumor mongering might be suggesting, beyond simple advertising for ATI, is that Valve may ship Half Life 2 and Counter Strike 2 separately. It just might be time to consider starting to save for that new Radeon...

As for ATI. Screw them. I won't shell out any cash for a graphics card when the one I have works fine.

I only bought a Powercolour Radeon, so didn't get a HL2 voucher. But I imagine, if track records are anything to go by, then in 2010 the people who went for all these ATI deals will have a lovely collection of vouchers :)

I frickin new they were gonna pull this stunt. They wont release CS2 until HL2 is done. Suckered evryone in with CZ now this! All I have to say is "I'll believe it when I see it". Still got my HL2 voucher in my ATI box, untouched. My ATI warranty will be over before I ever see HL2 or CS2. I heard rumors circulating that ATI is gonna pull the plug on HL2 vouchers cause Valve did not meet their release date. Anyone else hear this rumor? If they do, can you say Class Action lawsuit!

Um... He/she didn't say CS2 (as in the source; the Inquirer made that assumption). They also didn't say who the source was. My friend's dog could've been that source. For all we know this is merely a hoax. If not, then I would guess not CS2, but rather the Source version of CS that we heard about during the leak crisis.

this is a satirical joke on the whole hl2 bundle botch.



bundling CS2 (which is a currently non-existent mod based on a game not even released) is the most backasswards incentive to buy a video card that i've ever heard, and that was evidentally ever thought of by the Inquierer. Clearly, they are equating the hl2 ati voucher with this "new offer." both equal a whole lot of nothing.

CS2 will probably be like what happen with CS:CZ, if you had CS, you get $10 off on CZ. Same thing would probably happen if you have Half-Life 2, you will get like a $10 discount on CS2, but CS2 would still be a retail game and not a mod. And as far as I'm concerned about this rumor, it probably is rumor, but it's true at the same time because eventually it will be bundled, likely with some ATI card. I wouldn't be surprised to see CS2 be released soon after HL2 because CS really is aging fast. I also can't wait to see CS2 on the Xbox2, will be a definitely better buy than CS for the Xbox.

i got my voucher for hl2 with my 9800xt and i used it to get a free hl platinum pack as well.
