Counter-Hack has reported that United Admins, the crew which brought you Cheating-Death along with numerous other anti-cheat and server based tools, have been accused of being ones that are "voilating the licence agreements and the rights of the general public".
EDIT: Half-Life Radio, who spoke with GIR from Take13, has released their exclusive official UA statement. Stay tuned for the GIR interview.[break]"Really, we have no comment; DeNiro is so off base with his accusations that we find it quite humorous. If people want to try to turn UA into 'The Bad Guy' that's fine, we're just going to keep on doing what we're doing. We provide the community with software, and assistance to run their Game Servers. We also provide what has been proven to be the most effective Anti-Cheat solution available for HL based mods. "We have lines of communication open with both Will Day, and VALVe. If they didn't like what we were doing (and believe me, they are aware of the situation) they would have asked us to stop. So far this has not happened. "We would like to thank the community that has shown support for us over the last few days, If they are any indication of how everyone else feels, this 'issue' isn't really an issue at all."
I take no stand on this matter but if the facts live up to the research done then let punishment ensue. UA has been accused of advertising under the GPL license in past versions of StatsMe. While the new version has this removed, there is still commented out code in the source that shows plans for further advertising development.Whether this accusation remains to be true or not (let us hope it is the latter), only time will tell for now, however.
