Wouldnt the changing the money reward just make the CT's start camping more?
Well...then the T's can plant and win.

Must be the servers I go to. Either way, someone needs to get hooked on phonics!

naem : it isn't garbage. It's truth. a quarter of the servers I'm on have every good player whoring the CT team, and I think that the extra money pushes it a bit too much.
This is mainly for competitive CS, which is what the money mod is designed for. As said in the article, this isn't something to improve pubs.

Counter-Strike has these little things I like to call objectives. The "blue" team (Counter-Terrorists may be a little too long of a word for some people to comprehend) has the objective of guarding these tricky things called "bombsites." The "tan" team (I know, I know, the Arctic Avenger is always the subject of discrimination) has the objective of blowing up the bombsites.

When the blue team completes their objectives of guarding the bombsites, they are punished by given a lower amount of money the next round. That's given that the tan team don't complete their objective and just, for example, camps their spawn on Dust. So the blue team gets punished because the tan team fails their objectives. Does that make sense to you?

the "blue" team isn't really getting punished, becase they would win the round if the "tan" team doesn't plant the bomb. each side has two basic objectives: the first, and most important one is to plant/defuse the bomb, and the second is to eliminate the opposing team. if the ts choose not to plant, the cts should follow through with their second objective, which is to kill all the ts. the same applies for the ts. they can either plant the bomb, or kill the cts. so from this point of view, the game is perfectly balanced, and rewarding the cts for doing nothing but camping the bomb sites would only give them an unfair advantage.

The article really isn't about balancing the game. It's about making the game more spectator-friendly.

I could see a slight change, but no more than $300 dollars. Mostly since it seems to be an epidemic problem with people on PUBs joining CT on de_maps and T on as_maps and cs_maps just for the advantage. Adding too much cash as a fail safe could be bad if it does come down to a stand off.

That was a very well written article, and I too agree that the money system needs to change.

alex and darkviper would benefit from reading the article before commenting on it to make themselves not look quite as stupid. darkviper isn't even close though, he's talking about pubbing when we're talking about match play. Amazing. alex doesn't seem to realize it's to make the game more spectator friendly. If you watched CPL the matches were quite long due to half the rounds taking 3 minutes(in 2v3 situations the t's would often camp out the last few minutes still, especially on adrenaline).
