    Jess Cliffe CZ Interview

Nari CS, a Korean Counter-Strike community site, has conducted an interview with Jess Cliffe. The questions pertain primarily to the upcoming Condition Zero, those precious bots, modding possibilities, and is quite a nice, if a little brief, read.
    Q. In Korea, Half Life mod creation scene is almost none existent. This is mainly due to the fact that the manuals and map creation tools haven't been localized. Do you have any plans to localize (into Korean) SDK and map creation tools related to mod creation?

[Jess Cliffe] We know we can do a better job of supporting the global player and mod communities with localized versions of our games, tools and documentation. To that end, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will be localized into Korean and more languages than any of our prior releases. With respect to the SDK, we are probably more likely to release localized versions of the Half-Life 2/Source SDK.
Although the article may be in Korean, there is also a translated English version located in the same page as well. Thanks to seaofp for this great and intriguing interview.

As most of the page is in Korean, I dont understand a lot of it. Could any of our Korean chums shed any light on whether or not Mr Cliffe mentions word from his distributors regarding when the game will actually be released. It's a shame to pester them, but as Valve/Sierra are being their usual tight lipped selves, disregarding all requests for info as beneath them, I hoped that Mr Cliffe would be able to :)

FAF: Theres an english version of the article on the same page if you scroll down.
          Q. There are a lot of Half Life and Counter Strike fans here in Korea. Would you like to visit Korea to see and play with the fans?

[Jess Cliffe] We were very excited and pleased to hear about the success of our games in Korean and Asia, and we plan to visit as soon as we can.
Aww, poor Jess, he had to lie about wanting to visit stinky Korea.

Well that at least answers the question as to why Steam has a separate czero filter in the server browser. Looks like the updated maps will only be for those that buy CZ. Unless there becomes some way that standard CS multiplayer servers get the maps and let players without CZ download them...

The impression that I got was that people without CZ cant play on servers with bots, which may explain part of the seperation. Also, the CZ maps use higher quality textures that normal CS cant support, so someone could copy the layout of the map and put in low-rez textures, but I dont think you could connect to a server that was playing the CZ map. Rice Krispies are yummy.

                            Q. There is a map called de_korea, which is made by Korean players. This high quality map allows for fast paced action. Can you include this map as an official Condition Zero map for Korean players? You can download this map and screen shots at the following address.
