Gun Pulled at CXG Qualifier

Fights at any tournament or LAN party are NOT UNCOMMON whatsoever. Since CS is so mainstream, not every team is chock full of peace loving nerds. There is always several teams that take the losses beyond the game and make it physical. Just like any street fight, it can go bad, and guns can be pulled. I really hope this doesn't give these types of events a bad name (but I'm sure it will). This incident one of the staff members actually tried to get involved, which is very infrequent.



I guess it's time that people realized what really happens behind the scenes, since matches are only about an hour-hour and a half long, there is tons of downtime, stressing, strategies, and the works. Often followed by extreme lack of sleep and some small drug usage (drinking or smoking). Those conditions alone are more then enough, but a computer game does not allow one to release anger PHYSICALLY like other "sports". Many people need to release energy when they feel angry, irritated, or whatever. Since it's not like a game of basketball, where after the game they'll be tired and want to lay down and have a water break or something, they have that time alone in their minds, feeling very frustrated. Trust me, VERY frustrated. Normal frustrations of losing a match are magnified by all of the above, and in a game like CS where it can be VERY random, and VERY inconsistent, half the time your losing matches you could win 100 times over with big time leads.



I know this was long but I tried to go into every detail as a lot of common players of the game would have NO IDEA why this kind of thing would go on. I'm surprised this is news to some. It's also interesting how the team BZ is the one pulling the gun. I've barely heard of these guys, so I get the feeling they aren't good sports about their lacking abilities and teamwork. Well, they do have good teamwork with real life guns I suppose.

If the recent rumor at the LA CXG is found out to be true, the press is bound to get a hold of it. As soon as the press gets ahold of it, you can expect the violence in video games relating to real life topic come up again. Of course it is not the games themselves, but it is the situation that people put themselves in.

Ok, let's say in real life you a person that we'll call "A" and another person called "B". "A" is just your normal guy, not a thug of any sort but on the other hand, "B" is a thug. Suppose a bad call is made by the ref at a soccer game and the two teams get in an arguement about. "A" and "B" get into a short little arguement with a few words exchanged but shortly after that, "A" backs off. Why? Because "A" is having face to face contact with "B" and he can tell that this guy is not just a hothead and means every single word he says. "A" being guy with at least half some common sense, realizes that if he doesn't back down he could be in some serious trouble. And that is the end of that.

Now let's take that same situation except have it take place over the internet with counter-strike. Let's say that one of the guys teamates is considered a hacker but has not been "caught" yet by CAL or something. "A" and "B" will start to exchange words but it won't just stop there. Conflict will continue to escalate because "A" has no idea that "B" is not just an e-thug. Both of them can just hide behind their computers because it's online. I am sure most of you have found out when you go to a LAN, some people act MUCH differently online than they do on LAN. "A" does not back down, because there are no immediate threats. He continues to push "B" past his breaking point to the point that "B" is determined to injure "A" if he ever sees him in real life. Around comes a LAN tournament, where both players attend, and now you have a potential situation like what may of happened in LA.

That is so horrible, these are the kind of people who are eventualy gonna get events like these banned.



Its almost with like rockStar games right now. 2 kids were "inspired" by GTA3 to do drive by's with guns and killed several people. Now the parents of the victoms are suing RockStar.



If someone is that hot headed because of a stupid game, you look at two things here. They have very bad problems with their mind, or the parenting. Sigh.

Here are a couple of facts about CS players:



1. Most CS players are little kids, or teenagers. They are not equiped to handle society at all. They also display pack mentality. Mostly chink gangs. Nothing is funnier that chinks trying to be tough. Stop throwing these events if the little ill-adjusted fuck-wits can't co-exist in society.



2. Pro video game player is pro NOTHING. It is not a sport, or something many people (outside those who play) give a flying fuck about. In other words, very few people take you seriously, why bother taking yourself seriously?



3. If you live to be 30 something, you'll realize that you didn't amount to shit anyway, so grab up your monitor, leave it plugged in and jump in a full bath tub.

with the cash and prizes getting more and more larger, you can expect pro gaming to be a sport in the near future. in korea gaming is huge. i mean, they use a stadium for WCG, is that not big? im just stating that it is possible for pro gaming to be a sport, as it has in other areas. as for living up to 30's and still gaming, it is possible for someone to have a big career, and still game a lot, competitive gaming hasnt been around that long so you wouldnt see a 30 year old competing that much.

The US has a high number of freedoms, too. A country is not described accurately in one statistic. It is insane to relate this one event to some sort of larger problem within America. Almost all Americans will never point a gun at another person.
