Make sure that Steam is completely closed. Then go into you Steam folder and delete the clientregistry.blob file. Start Steam up again and it should update itself without many problems.

I take it that you don't understand that server operators need to update their servers. Steam has nothing to do with that error that you are getting.

Yeah I had to do this. I had formatted my PC and reinstalled steam using the 700 odd meg full installer. It then deleted all my cache files and redownloaded them.

yea i still have not gotten that update, and im still getting the user id error, and it's thursday. Has anyone else not gotten this update? I guess that im not able to play cs untill this crap updates, or do I have to wait until next Wed.! Oh man! a whole week without CS!!! How will I live.Oh well, time to play desert combat for some time.

Erm, as I had not seen any ads for ges, and it wsa announced AGES ago that csn would be changing hosts I had thought that we were free to speak, nothing wron g with friendly host bashing, I paid $79.95 for the priviledge to use their undoubtedly useful services and fileplanet, arcade 1.4 is actually not bad... Just dont remember seeing apost rule saying banned for excersising free speech?

i have that problem too, i dont have a clue to be honest, i deleted the clientblob thing but now it wont even let me log in *rolls eyes*

probly just the steam servers knackered but it dnt seem so on the status page.

Thats the fault of the server operator (for not updating their server to the latest version) so you can't blame Valve for that one.



FYI, I've had no problems whatsoever with Steam (over 56k) since about the 2nd week after it was launched.
