THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH STEAM. If there is, its probably because your 14, dumb, and are trying to play CS on a 500 MHZ pc whilst complaining on forums, talking on msn and dling on kazaa. dont forget steam requires alot of CPU usage. LEAVE IT ALONE! have u ever stopped to think about exactly how many ppl are clicking the UPDATE BUTTON right now? system requirments for CS
pentium 133mhz 24meg ram
recommended
pentium 200mhz 32meg ram
so why does a program to dl files need 1ghz
im sure internet explorer doesnt use the same amout
whoah msn must use a lot of bandwidth

the steam servers are 68 % full on average too

steam should update really quickly.....if it doesn't it probably because its had a problem parsing the incoming stream, in which case, kill off the process and start again. come on folks.....its not hard!

GeForce 4 Ti4200
512 DDR Ram
I keep my computer in top shape, runs faster than most 2.5 gHZ machines my friends own because they don't know how to take care of them. You know the little things like CometCursor, Kazaa running WHILE playing, extra processes that drain CPU power.
I've had to reinstall Steam from SCRATCH twice, and have had to download the CS cache once on top of that. I think it's a good idea and on its way to being almost perfect, but nothing wrong with it? My ass.Comment

Things are looking good in my opinion. So Valve screwed up a few times, who cares, we all screw up one time or another in our lives. If you go all crazy because you can't play for a day then simply find some other game to play in the meanwhile. There are plenty of free online games out there, how about trying PristonTale for example. :)Comment

People want to play CS, not using steam. CS isn't steam, but now Valve made part of it. They don't make updates for CS, they make updates for steam.
What would have been nice is make steam and CS two separate entities.
Or if they can't, make steam use less resources than in its current state.Comment
