this is true, I prefer sitting on my comp than watching TV, but I dont necessarily play CS because its a pretty boring game. TV is just so crappy now, nothing interesting to watch, and with my comp I at least have the choice what I should do/watch

I actually play less CS than I used to. I only watch shows on TV that I have recorded so I don't sit through commercials.



I think CS is stagnated somewhat with no fresh new maps and just as many cheaters as ever. There's no real incentive to play. Steam just slows the process down even more.



I think I read more fark.com now than play cs and I used to could play CS for hours on end. Now I get bored after 1 map and have to do something else.



The only thing that will breath fresh life into CS is CS2 and that probably won't be till this time next year. For now it's the same thing with a slower interface. Where's the fun?!

Well i must say that i really hate to watch TV..why ?..because ..TV is getting more boring and repetitive each day its passes ... its more time.. with advertisements than with a good film or a really interesting program... so... the future is that TV have to migrate to PC.



Counter-Strike its like football of the new digital era... it's more easy to enjoy a game like counter-strike than to watch in real life a football match.

i think they missed on the age bracket in a big way i see cs as more of a 14-35 game since most tennagers/early 20's were playing quake and doom and quake 2 and eventually moved intoo cs cuz q3 blowz jmho

Anyway, The Simpsons and The Daily Show are the only shows I really miss, but I can live without. I don't even own a TV right now at my place, as the computer pretty much fills any need for electronic entertainment. Admittedly it's nice to have my DVD player and DivX collection, but it's actually surprisingly easy to live without a TV and not really miss it. Heck, sometimes I even read "books" and play a "piano" for kicks. :P



As far as that server comment, I'm guessing it's either a misunderstanding, or perhaps he was thinking hundreds of people play on the server, but not all at once. Who knows.



Either way, I thought it was a nicely written and fairly interesting article, and the guy plainly admitted he wasn't an expert on the subject. Looking at a violent computer game from an angle other than "is it bad or not?" is a welcome change, and I think this was a successful attempt at exploring other aspects of the game.
