The interactive nature of CS means that it can certainly be a more involving experience than television, like the difference between dirty porn and dirty women
Do you mean dirty in the sense of filthy not clean, or dirty filthy suck-it-up-your-throat?

    :)

All I can say is, "Score some positive pub. for CS."

Sure better than the normal moronic attention the media gives it.

The player numbers confusion probably came from loose research an observation of what was in reality spectator server's, which often do have huge numbers. If you just go to look at the biggest server in 1.5, don't know the difference and see 0-200 you might assume it is a 200 player server.

This article comes as little surprise from what the Steam business model was saying. The number of hours played of CS per month is roughly the same as the most popular shows on TV, meaning that those people, although likely to be younger than the target audiences, are not in front of the TV. As we age this trend will become even more pronouced, reinforcing what the article is saying.

Valve has been very smart to introduce Steam to keep it in the loop of future releases of CS and HL. Hopefully, TV will go away soon... it sucks... Maybe we could keep the The News Hour with Jim McNeil and the BBC News, but other than that, its all crap.

That's cause TV is boring and repetative.

However, I watch Seinfeld, Family Guy, and Home Improvement because it's just funny stuff. I've seen every episode of Home Improvement so it's boring now.

Also, me = getting digital cable and Much Loud. whoo.

This is so true, I spend more time on my computer than TV, maybe I'll get a TV in my room, that way I can play cs and watch tv at the same time, hey that'll make camping FUN !!

Seems to be missing the ability to get every TV show on the net. Could be called direct competition. And one of them is free! - Tink
