ABC News has done an article entitled (En)Counter Strike - Why Those Young Men Aren't Watching TV Anymore. It's about why television viewership has dropped for young males age 18-24.
What's causing this cultural earthquake? It's called, appropriately, Counter-Strike. It's a computer game, and even as you read this, thousands of young men (and a few hundred young women) are playing it on the Internet -- instead of watching TV.Thanks to Steakeater for submitting this item. The interactive nature of CS means that it can certainly be a more involving experience than television, like the difference between dirty porn and dirty women. Mind you, there's still a lot to be said for sitting on the couch watching Simpson repeats. Take a read!
