you shouldn't have been surprised. When HL2 didn't go gold at the beginning of the month, I knew it was going to be delayed.

It was totally obvious that they were going to push it back. At least with DNF you know it's never coming out !

I am honestly not surprised at all. Valve is slowly making their way off of my very short list of favorite game developers. Delay after delay on every thing they work on. Argue away that the delays will make it better or whatever, but thats beside the point. I just don't like being lied to. Any way you slice it, you know Valve can't meet a release date so they should have just not given us one or given themselves more time than they thought they would need.

Yeah, good point. Im aiming for an Athlon-64 FX system, should cope well :)

personally im not annoyed its delayed, im annoyed that the game is being hyped up SO much, that we might be dissapointed with it when its actually released. this kind of thing happened too many times in the past.

now to rub it into my friends face, i knew this would happen; about 2 days ago amazon.com pushed their date to december, thats when i got really suspicious, the clues all pointed to: delayed. do i sound like a detective yet?!?! :)

I figure they will make the CZ release over steam 'practice' for HL2. I wonder if they ever thought of doing some kind of P2P thing to increase their bandwidth. That way, the more people that have it, the faster other people can get it, and it will snowball and eventually ravage the internet, and money will fly out of ATMs, and carrots will grow on trees, and I like green eggs and ham, Sam I am. Half-Life 2 is the Devil!!!
