Steam sucks everytime I go to open it it doesn't respond WTF!

Lets clear this up now, as far as I can tell not many people are getting Steam because they LOVE the idea and want it. Their getting it because as far as I know you need it to play 1.6. I want to play CS I don't want to fuck around with Steam for 12 hours and pick glass out of my hand from punching my monitor in.

Everyone should download the game cache files from the Bittorrent links. I downloaded everything I needed at speeds of at least 80kb/sec, which is by far a lot faster then you'd get going through the steam app. If more people downloaded with Bittorrent, not only would they have their files a lot quicker but they'd also alleviate the major stress on Valve's servers. Things would start running a lot smoother this way.

Aight, well i jus created an account, and when i tried to login this time it said that either the Steam network is down or my internet connection is down...so does this mean that Steam is jus temporarily down and will b up later?

It means there are too many people like you logging in.. wait for a while then log in again

if anything fails, just kill steam and restart it. eventually, youll get to where you need to be.

Does ANYBODY else get an error msg that simply says "error" during the splash screen when trying to play 1.6? I can get past all the preparing 2 play and stuff but then i cant get past the opening screen. do other people hav this problem or am i just fucked?
