Fuckin disgrace

Did anyone else get this error when running Steam? Something like "registered children not available".



I know it's not that, but it's an error that says something about children...

Well, the funny things I've noticed about this program.



1. It hates to open, it likes to go "not responding" for awhile...then you try again and again, and finally after like 5 minutes, it pops up out of nowhere all "I'm alive!!"

2. It seems to freeze, but really isn't frozen. It will sit there acting like it's frozen for 5-6 minutes, and then will magically come to life again.

3. It gets runtime errors all the time just by sitting there and doing nothing.

4. It likes to screw up your system's fonts and GUI thus forcing you to restart.

5. You try to create shortcuts of the games on your desktop, it fails to do that, because it claims you "already have shortcuts" Ahem....no I don't =)

6. The server lists fail to recognize filters, and sometimes just stop detecting anything, period, until you restart the program.

7. It likes to screw itself up without reason. I.e. Cancel a DoD download, restart your computer, and the Steam.exe file mysteriously disappear from the computer.

8. All of the games seem to lack any sharpness. Everything is smooth, but TOO smooth, thus it looks blurry or 'cartoon' like.



Hmmm, so this is a "complete" version? *laughs* The beta version had the EXACT same errors and tendencies, it hasn't changed one bit. I think they just fixed a few 1.6 bugs, then slapped steam beta out and said it was the finished version =P



For now that's all that comes to mind, but I'm sure many people would love to add a whole lot more to that list, heh. Why don't we make a big mulit-post list or something to let off some "Steam" *pun intended*

It's all a gag...just check to make sure it is not april 1st.....not only cant people update or play online we cant even access sp or offline ( when steam is on it arse should i say ) cheers now we cant even get a fecking lan working......



I have been playing hl and it is mods from the release date of hl....put up with cheats, hackers,server costs ,buggs, vac, updates(some better than others)..and all the other stuff....but this is tops it really is lol..... a system called steam ( maybe it actuall is steam powered, run off a huge bank of kettle's..or maybe tons of litlle mice in wheels)....a system now that not only those without the update but those actually with it cant play online or offline ....thank you valve for giving me more quality time to spend with my wife..great now where is my divorce lawyers number......



time to start playing online solitare it is a lot stressful

1.6 fucked up the game, all headshots, galil is good and the famas is a piece of shit, riotshield is fucking stupid because you can kill them easily, etc. Just the new look, makes me want to vomit. gimme back 1.5!

1.6 is so much cleaner than 1.5, it is not even funny...the arms in 1.5 look poo-stained and diseased.

I know 1.6 is still beta, so I don't mind it being a little buggy, I meant Steam beta. The finished steam has every error steam beta did.



So, it seems like they just added a download and cache thing to steam beta and then threw it out and called it good.
