dont dis steam lol i admit its very lame but once you get steam going good TRUST ME YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!! I suppose you can email their tech support and just wait a few days until this whole steam mess works itself out (phased in my ass lol this wasnt phased in it was car wrecked in) while i play some 1.6 beta and laugh at you morons

You only have to enter a cd key if you didn't have hl or cs or dod installed. If they are installed steam got the key when you made your account.

how long does it usually take for the game to be "AVAILABLE" again?

CS 1.6 is totally unplayable on my p3 500 mhz (note the min sys req says 400 mhz), and i have a much better video card than my cpu (radeon 8500 64 mb)... i get like 30 fps MAX, 20 fps average, and 10 fps or lower when i see people. also, the first 10 or so minutes of playing includes major slow downs whenever something new happens (some1 takes out a new gun, throws a nade, c4 explodes, etc.)...



i'm so fucking fed up with getting low fps, it's impossible to play competitevly when it's a freaking slideshow: one frame u see an enemy, the next you're dead - what a fun slideshow game by the name of CS 1.6 (i wasn't getting that great fps in 1.5 either, but it was at least playable).



grrr. buy me a new computer. :|

Ok, I've got everything installed, but the steam tray thing isnt coming up, and nothing happens when I click on my desktop "steam" shortcut. Wtf is going on? I installed steam_cs.exe and everything

yea ok steam is a good idea but a bad execution its alright people im sure this will sort itself out eventually....ah...stupid waiting to play games..
